I
literally grabbed this on KU as soon as I put down Rebel Soul. Not because I
liked Colton but because I was so hooked on this author's writing style and I’m
loving this series. And I devoured it in an afternoon. I am so thankful that
this series is in KU, and I could just devour it without thought. Although you
could absolutely read all of these as stand alones or in pretty much any order
the only thing is there are semi spoilers with them being set at different
times and the main characters being connected and making cameo appearances in each
other’s books. But if you’re like me it won’t affect the story (mainly because
give it a week and I will have forgotten their names (I am terrible with
names))
Anyhow
Colton started this book like the huge stick up his arse we already knew him to
be. And he went above and beyond to make him unlikable. In fact if it wasn’t
for how amazing and resilient Ash was I would have wanted him to get a junk
punch and been left in the mud. Because man was, he an absolute acehole. Except
for when it came to his son. But Ash, she was so awesome, and she was the
absolute most caring and beautiful soul ever. I loved the way she absolutely
trusted her instincts and led with her heart, even when I wanted her to be
swept off her feet by someone who would worship her and fight for her from the moment,
he laid eyes on her.
Luckily
for Colton, Ash wasn’t perturbed by him in the least as she fell madly in love
with his adorable son. Also, luckily for Colt when he finally removed the
earlier mentioned stick he gave great boyfriend. And even luckier this was
written in dual point of view so even when he was being a jerk, we got some
insight into him and it made it him a little more human and forgivable for his
actions.
Unfortunately
for me I just got a teaser for Best Laid Plans and now I have another book on
my TBR I can’t wait to read. I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to finally
read this authors books despite having half of them on my TBR mountain. But I
can’t be upset because now I have so many awesome reads to look forward to.
Ok
so this book was kind of a complete contrast. I've put it down thinking how
light and fluffy and sweet it was, but I had some serious sad, deep moments in
there too. They just were so beautifully balanced with the sweetness that they
didn't cloud it.
The
main catalyst for Stacia going to stay with West wasn't really focused on.
Which was good and bad, I did have a few moments where I wondered what was
going on with that, but it wasn't really relevant to the story. And after
reading the blurb I actually am so glad that the book was nothing like I
expected.
Having
West's point of view was awesome because he was so sweet and at other times so
alpha, it was nice to see what was going on in his head. I didn't want to put
this book down once I got into it. And the complete lack of relationship drama
made it so easy to read.
Everything
about this book just worked and I am so glad I picked it up today. I'm going to
race over to KU and get Colton's book now. Toodles.
This
is another one of those books that's sat on my TBR for years. So, in my current
I don't know what to read funk I decided it had to be on my TBR to try clean
that up a little. And honestly looking at the 2k books that have been added
over the last 10 years I realised how vast my tastes are but also how much they
have changed.
But
today this book was the one that spoke to me, and it was in KU (bonus) so I
jumped in and didn't put it down. Luckily, it's a reasonably quick read.
However, it sure did pack a lot of interesting story into the pages. I feel
like I got a great feel for the characters and who they were. I loved the
history between Brock and AJ.
I
also got enough twists and turns to keep the story interesting and make me need
to see how things were going to unfold. It was hot as hell and equally as sweet
with plenty of emotions packed in. It was the perfect lazy Sunday afternoon
read. And I am off to KU to grab the next book. Toodles.

Ava Diaz needs saving.
She just doesn’t know it yet.
Just like she doesn’t know a thing about the boy she sits next to on the first day of senior year.
He thinks she’s a brat.
She thinks he’s entitled.
Maybe first impressions don’t always last…
Because Connor Ledger’s about to save her.
He just doesn’t know why.

The
first thought that came to mind when I put this book down was that they saved
the best for last but then I sat back and reflected and honestly, they were all
equally awesome. Each book had a different trope, and each sister had their own
uniqueness and each of the men had their own history that made each book
different enough that I binged all four of these back-to-back without feeling
like I needed a break. They could be read as stand alones but they didn’t recap
the family history, they just covered it from their own point of view and I
loved that they were each affected so differently because that’s life’s beauty.
I
really expected to get Isabel’s story a lot sooner in the line-up after seeing
the moment that Aiden and Isabel first crossed paths and assuming he was going
to be the love interest for her story. So, waiting until the last book was just
a huge tease. Add in the fact that Isabel was definitely the most closed off
sister and I never really felt like I knew her as well as the others. And once I
started reading her book, I realised I really didn’t know anything about her.
Which makes sense in the scheme of her age when her mother left.
Aiden
and that prologue had me nervous that he wasn't the best choice for Isabel. I
always hate the dead spouse thing. It's such a tightrope to get the balance
right for the second chance. Especially when there are children involved. But
it was done so well and Aiden's initial hesitance even made it better. Obviously,
Isabel knew that found family is as precious as born family, so her love and
acceptance of Aiden's past made it even more of a non-issue.
But
now I'm devastated that the series is over. Although I have a few more Wolves
books to read so hopefully I'll catch up with these guys again soon. Although I
accidentally read Emmett's book first without realising who he was. Not that I
can be upset since he led me to this awesome binge.
Geez
these books just keep hitting me in the feels and you would think by now I
would be expecting it a little more but nope. I don't even know how I thought
this book was going to play out with the whole story being based around a
whoops baby, but I really didn't think it would have that much depth.
Not
that the author's books haven't proven to me that she can deliver the deep,
just that I come out of each of them with a smile and an OMG I need the next
book now. I think I forget that I spent half of the book going holy shit how
are they going to deal with this emotional fallout. And then the Ward family
close ranks and remind me how badly I want to be adopted by a fictional family.
So,
Lia was awesome and completely mature and well-grounded, and all boss bitch and
I loved her. She put her baby and her emotional health over her hormones and
honestly deserves a medal since she had a hot soccer player with a British
accent waiting for her in bed. Jude was ok. He was an idiot, but in that good
way where he realised it and went right to work to make everything perfect for
Lia.
I
am loving this Ward sister binge and getting so much of Paige and Logan and
these athletes these ladies keep finding. I have been dying for Isabel's book
since Molly's book and yes, it's already on my kindle. I love KU.
