My name is Jaxson Albright. To my friends I’m known as Jax. I’m the disgraced son of well-known Politician, Malcom Albright. You could say I was born with a silver spoon in my mouth. I was supposed to follow in my father’s footsteps and move into politics. My whole childhood was spent being groomed for this role, but that wasn’t what I wanted. I had other plans.
To my family’s disgust, I’m inked, I’m pierced and I own and run a tattoo parlour, in the hip suburb of Newtown. I fit in here. I can be the man I was destined to be, the man my family are ashamed of. The son they regret having.
I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for my saviour, Candice. My pink-haired angel. We grew up in the same circle, but like me, she’s an outcast. She refused to conform to society’s ways. She’s the only one who stuck by me and not only encouraged, but supported my dream.
I love her. No, correction—I’m in love with her. I have been for as long as I can remember. She has no idea how I feel. It’s a battle I struggle with daily. I’ve kept my secret all these years because I couldn’t risk losing her. That’s a chance I’m not prepared to take, because she’s my best friend; my only real family.
I’ve spent the last few years moving from one hot chick to the next, trying to mask these feeling I have. But it doesn’t help—I can’t get her out of my head. She still owns my damn heart.
How do you get over the girl you know you can never have? And how do you live without the one person on this earth who is made for you?
She’s my soulmate.

My Review
Excerpt
When I opened the front door and came face to face with Finn’s bare arse I screamed, “What the hell Finn!” I turned my back on him and faced the closed door, “What are you doing? Put some damn pants on.”
“Ah, can you give us a minute?” Finn’s voice sounded small and embarrassed.
“Yep, you betcha. Call out when you’re decent, we are going to be having a serious conversation as soon as clothes are back in play.” Then I re-opened the front door and stepped back out on to the porch.
A minute or two later I heard Finn call out, “Decent.” And I turned the handle and let myself back in.
My jaw dropped when I saw Nixie sitting on the couch beside Finn. Her face as beat red as his. “Wha— Ah— I’m so confused.” I stuttered. “I wish I hadn’t seen what I clearly just saw, but I’m happy to see you, Nixie.”
Her shoulders relaxed in relief, and she gave me a small finger wave, “It’s good to see you too Tory. Sorry about—” her hand gestured between the two of them, “this,” she finished.
“Me too,” I muttered.
Finn was smiling brightly, and I glared at him as I plonked down on the couch that I had not just seen him having sex on. “You’re paying to have that couch cleaned.” I told him. “I watch Netflix on that couch!” I whined. “Couldn’t you have taken it to your bedroom? I mean seriously, what made you think the couch was a good place for you two to be bumping uglies?”
Nixie’s eyes bounced between Finn and myself with a puzzled expression on her pretty face.
I stood up, “You know what, don’t answer that, I can’t deal with this today. I’m exhausted. I just got an awesome tattoo, by the way. Just so you know. I was going to surprise you with it, but you don’t get to see the awesomeness until later now.”
“You what?” Finn asked.
I held my hand up in his face, “Talk to the hand ‘cause the face ain’t listening. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go scrub my eyeballs with bleach if you don’t mind.” I told him as I walked down the hallway. Every time I closed my damn eyes I could see Finn thrusting into Nixie and I wanted to hurl.
My day couldn’t possibly get any worse. Talking sex and babies with Weston, then seeing Finn’s arse as he pumped into his ex-girlfriend on my Netflix couch. I needed a huge glass of wine and a scalding hot bath to wash it all away.

This book was
not at all what I was expecting. First I had no idea it was a novella, don’t
ask me how I missed that but I was expecting a longer book for the amount of drama
I was expecting.
But then I
wasn’t expecting the heartbreak either. And for such a short book it sure did
pack in a massive amount of emotion and an awesome story with some great
characters who had a lot of depth.
I absolutely
adored Weston. I loved that the story was told from before they were anything
other than friends so we got a good feel for who they were apart and a chance
to see how they fit and also got a lot of the secondary characters to see how
this was going to work in real life.
“Your heart beats for those around you.” He paused licking his lips, “And my heart, it beats for you.”
I had a bit
of uncertainty how I wanted this to go and for a page or two I thought it might
not work for me but the author did an amazing job of making it sweet and
dragging me right into the romance.
She had a few
moments where I questioned Tory’s responses but then in the same breath I could
completely understand why she fought it and what she was thinking.
I really
enjoyed this sweet story and I can’t wait to hunt out more of this author’s
work and hopefully meet some more beautiful characters.

Everyone has secrets. Some are better at hiding them than others.
Enigmatic and reserved

as a wealthy venture capitalist. At the request of a partner, he makes a
business trip to Vegas to check out a stripper known as Seary. When he
sees her for the first time, lightning strikes, igniting UNDENIABLE
lust. He's the kind of man that knows what he wants, and MAKES it
happen.
"I will have her. I will possess her. I will own her."
But she has a team in place determined to protect her from men like him. Will she be the only one he cannot have?
"I will have her. I will possess her. I will own her."
But she has a team in place determined to protect her from men like him. Will she be the only one he cannot have?
The crowd goes silent instantly as the THUMP, THUMP, THUMP, and strobes take over. Anticipation is heavy in the air. The tension is thick as the excitement builds, then the plucked notes of an electric guitar fill the room, and I recognize "So Contagious" by Acceptance. Hmm. Interesting choice.
Kip leans over and shouts. "This is going to be good."
But I don’t hear him. The circling spotlight found it’s target when the curtain was pulled back and a Goddess dances onto the stage. I know without a doubt, this is Seary! Staring at her, spellbound by her beauty, my mind goes blank and the words of the song think for me. Wow! This is unexpected! My cock fills with blood. One hand instinctively seizes it, trying to choke the life out of it, while the other hunkers down on my drink and I struggle to get a grip on myself. She boldly bounces onto the stage to perform for a crowd of drunken fools, but her graceful movement belies her occupation and I recognize a gifted and talented dancer before me. She moves with the elegance and poise of someone who could, and probably should, be dancing on a larger, grander scale. She is perfection in motion.
Whether it's Army, Navy, Air Force or Marines, military men make her swoon. Her alpha male hunks are heroes who they fall for her confident, smart, and sexy heroines. She believes in modern day fairy tales where love and lust form perfect unions, and the stars do align for true love. She also guarantees more than one happy ending.
She is fun and flirty like the heroines she writes.
"Jessika Klide is my pen name. I'm from LA ... Lower Alabama. The Deep South. Since my mind is super slutty, it's just better to use a pen name. Trust me on this! ;)"

EXCERPT:
“Oh, Ryker. I don’t know what to say. Thank you so much. You have no idea what this means to me.”“You can show me later.” He gave Joanna a sly smile and watched her blush.
“Hmm…not sure I’m up to where that might lead.” She eased the blankets down, revealing those shapely legs he remembered from so long ago. Sexy as hell.
“You can trust me.” He diverted his gaze when she caught him staring, feeling the tension spark through his muscles.
“Can you toss me my robe?” She pointed to the chair in the corner.
He did as she asked and helped her slip it over her shoulders, feeling the toned muscles of her upper arms. “You working out?”
“A little. Don’t worry. No more Karate, but I like to stay fit. Does that surprise you, or scare you?” she laughed.
“No. Not at all.” He let his thumbs massage the tense cords of her neck and felt her instantly relax. Awareness bounced back and forth between their bodies, her willingness to submit to his touch causing his breath to hitch.
“That feels wonderful.” She rolled her neck, her head falling back to rest against his chest where his heart raced for the finish line.
He cleared his throat. “If you want to see your father today, we best get going. That head nurse is a real piece of work. Not a compassionate bone in her body.”
She locked eyes with his as she turned to pull the wheelchair away from the wall beside the bed and eased down into the seat. “You able to push this cripple around?”
So caught up in his shit, he’d forgotten about her injuries. She had a nasty leg wound. Over forty stitches. Couldn’t walk on her own. Not without a lot of pain.
“You betcha,” he said, stepping behind her and slipping his left arm out of the sling. The damn annoying thing was more standard procedure than anything else. The pain in his shoulder had subsided hours ago due to the drugs. “Going to look funny, me pushing you, since I have more bandages.” He chuckled and gripped the handles tight, waiting for her to settle in.
“You really are my hero, ya know?” Her head fell back against his stomach again.
Sparks ignited at her innocent action. “Just doing my job, ma’am.” If she only knew what hoops he’d jump through for her.
“Liar,” she giggled.
