This is NOT a standalone and must be read AFTER The Prey.

She loves writing about darkness, passion, suspense, and of course, steam.
Leaving her readers gasping and asking what the hell just happened is only one of her many tricks.
Her books range from morally grey to dark and spicey but always end with a happily ever after. She loves to write across numerous tropes, but her favorite is enemies to lovers.
She started her writing career in the summer of 2014 and hasn’t stopped since. She lives in Wisconsin and is a mom to two, a wife, and likes to act as a literary agent part-time.

I have two
goals this season:
1.
Prove
to the Seattle Serpents I’m not a complete screwup.
2.
Stay
away from the nanny.
I’m hardly
able to keep myself out of trouble, let alone a seven-year-old, but when my
estranged brother gets a life sentence, I have no choice but to clean up my act
and take the kid in.
It’s all
going according to plan…until I’m forced to hire Quinn Benson.
She’s
everything I need to avoid—flighty, messy, creating chaos everywhere she goes.
But she makes my niece happy, so I hire her anyway, keeping our interactions as
brief as possible, even when she moves in with me.
Thing is,
the more she’s around, the more I want her around—and not just as a
nanny. I can’t seem to stop falling into bed with her even when I know I
shouldn’t. Quinn goes against everything I’m trying to accomplish, but I can’t
stay away.
This might
be one delayed penalty I don’t mind serving…

Meet Teagan
TEAGAN HUNTER writes steamy
romantic comedies with lots of sarcasm and a side of heart. She loves pizza,
hockey, and romance novels, though not in that order. When not writing, you can
find her watching entirely too many hours of Supernatural, One Tree Hill, or
New Girl. She's mildly obsessed with Halloween and prefers cooler weather. She
married her high school sweetheart, and they currently live in the PNW.

Make sure to preorder this all-new standalone, forced/arranged marriage, mafia romance TODAY!!

I was born into the Cosa Nostra, so I've always known an arranged marriage loomed in my future.
When the Capo dei Capi of the Cosa Nostra comes to Sicily to give his approval for his cousin, Stefano, to take me as his bride, I know my fate is all but sealed. Marrying Stefano is the last thing I want, but being a woman, I don't have a say in the matter.
Damiano Falco is merciless and rules the Cosa Nostra with an iron fist. Everyone fears him and won't dare go against him.
I'm still trying to accept that I'll have no choice but to marry Stefano when Damiano utters the last word anyone expects to hear.
"No."
He doesn't give his approval, nor does he offer any explanation.
But if I think his refusal will set me free, I have another thing coming. Instead, my bags are packed, and within hours, I find myself sitting on a private jet with the head of the Costa Nostra.
The ruthless man doesn't tell me anything, and I have no idea what my future holds.
To say I'm terrified is the understatement of the century.

I've been looking forward to this book since I
finished the last one. So, when this finally landed on my kindle, I dove right
in. Because I really loved the last two books in the series and the authors
writing I just knew I was going to love this one. Especially with the trope
teasers I'd seen hit all my happy buttons.
For the first thirty percent I kind of struggled
with both Ford and Taytum. There was so much back and forth between them, and I
wanted to scream at them and shake them. I am ok with a slow burn and a bit of
a tease, but I can't handle it if both people are playing games and not
communicating.
And then after the thirty percent mark I got a bit
more caught up in the characters as they stopped playing some of the games. Plus,
they started to communicate and we got to see them actually together even if
there was still so many walls between them.
From that point I couldn't put it down. I was dying
to know how they were going to sort through all the different things standing
in their way. And as each thing came to light or got settled, I fell harder for
both of them. Ford was such a great boyfriend once he decided to take the
chance, I even forgot to be mad about him for earlier. Especially when his
jealous and possessive side came out.
Taytum grew on me. For a while she came across as
being immature and selfish. Then I saw her actions through Ford's lens, and I
could see where she was coming from. The two of them together worked
beautifully. I would have loved to have gotten an epilogue but I put the book
down with a smile on my face so I can't complain.
That was actually a lot more emotional than I was
expecting. I one clicked this as soon as I put Saint down and then didn't read
it. For some reason every time I was trying to figure out what to read next
this just wasn't it. Mainly because I have this aversion to friends to lovers,
until I'm reading them.
I want my couple to be all in from the start. I
don't want one of them to be off having fun and the other sitting and pining.
Which in my brain was what I expected and I kind of got that, but I also
didn't.
Ursula was more than I was expecting. And her
family was so sweet and a little bit crazy. I loved that she was very self-aware
and stood up for what she wanted without being overboard with it. And she also
didn't let anyone talk her out of her decisions except for herself.
However, Cooper turned out to be the dark horse of
the story. My first opinion of him was not a positive one and I was worried
about where this was going to go. But then he let some of those walls down and
we got to see the real him. And I couldn't get enough of him.
My only complaint is that we didn't get enough of
Ursula and Cooper together. I liked the slow reveal, and they were hot once
they were actually together but it didn’t feel like we got enough of that. It
kind of went from will they to oh they did. I didn’t feel like there was enough
of the happily ever after outside of the bedroom. And now I’m going to add the
next one to my TBR.
Karla
Sorensen is one of those authors you know you can trust to give you a story
that you will feel. And this one absolutely made me have all the feels. I have
had this one on my TBR for ages and then I saw the next one was releasing soon
so I figured I had better get onto this one now.
Burke was so
deep in his grief for his friends and was so determined to honour them it was
impossible not to admire him. And Charlotte was so full of passion it was like
watching a storm cloud and rainbow come together. They went together so
beautifully and naturally. Yet they had to weather the storm and work to come
through it.
The emotions
were so strong in this I was dying for these guys to get their much deserved
happily ever after. And as much as I enjoyed this book I have a feeling that
the next one is going to be even more emotional and have me feeling everything
even deeper than this one. And I'm really looking forward to it.
