So I put down Four Letter Word and I had to jump
straight into this. I was so hooked on J. Daniel’s writing, almost as hooked as
I was on the amazing characters. I loved Jamie and legs as secondary characters
and I felt like all the glimpses of them together was an extension of the
foreplay.
My only concern was Jamie. I really loved him and
his man whore ways I just didn’t think he was serious about starting a
relationship and settling down and I wasn’t sure what had happened at the party
in Four Letter Word. But I did enjoy watching him chase Tori and I was dying to
find out how they could get from where they were to happily ever after.
I have to admit Tori annoyed me initially. I
thought she was just playing with Jamie and wasn’t really interested in forgiving
him for his past. But then I would remember where her hesitation came from and
I would get mad at Jamie for not treating her a lot more delicately. He really
did approach her arse backwards and I could understand Tori thinking it was all
just a game to him.
I loved the back and forth and I was squirming to
see what the tipping point was going to be. The tension was just so perfectly
weighted it kept me on the edge of my seat. They just worked so perfectly
together once they got passed the drama and angst and I enjoyed catching up
with Sydney and Brian

Holy wow! I don’t know how I wasn’t expecting all the
awesome that was this book. I mean I saw the rave reviews and the blurb sounded
right up my alley and I raced out and one clicked it but then I left it
gathering dust and forgot all about it until I was blessed with an arc for Hit
the Spot.
So I went back and grabbed this and was instantly
transfixed. From the first page I didn’t want to put it down, I was in love
with wild and trouble and the dialogue between them. The text messages and the conversations
were so real and I couldn’t wait for them to get together.
The chemistry between them was so palpable I could
feel it bleeding off the pages. But the other emotions weren’t lost in it and I
think I went through the full range of emotions and back again. It was one of
those rare reads where I felt everything like I was living it.
But of course the star of the story was Brian and I
am absolutely adding him to my book boyfriend collection. It was a case of lust
at first sight and love a few pages after. Everything about him was just all
that you could ask for and I seriously want to stay in his story for weeks.
Not that Sydney wasn’t all that and a bag of chips I
just was so completely gone over him I could barely see anything else around him
and I didn’t want to. And now I am off to read Hit the Spot.

My Review
Excerpt
When I opened the front door and came face to face with Finn’s bare arse I screamed, “What the hell Finn!” I turned my back on him and faced the closed door, “What are you doing? Put some damn pants on.”
“Ah, can you give us a minute?” Finn’s voice sounded small and embarrassed.
“Yep, you betcha. Call out when you’re decent, we are going to be having a serious conversation as soon as clothes are back in play.” Then I re-opened the front door and stepped back out on to the porch.
A minute or two later I heard Finn call out, “Decent.” And I turned the handle and let myself back in.
My jaw dropped when I saw Nixie sitting on the couch beside Finn. Her face as beat red as his. “Wha— Ah— I’m so confused.” I stuttered. “I wish I hadn’t seen what I clearly just saw, but I’m happy to see you, Nixie.”
Her shoulders relaxed in relief, and she gave me a small finger wave, “It’s good to see you too Tory. Sorry about—” her hand gestured between the two of them, “this,” she finished.
“Me too,” I muttered.
Finn was smiling brightly, and I glared at him as I plonked down on the couch that I had not just seen him having sex on. “You’re paying to have that couch cleaned.” I told him. “I watch Netflix on that couch!” I whined. “Couldn’t you have taken it to your bedroom? I mean seriously, what made you think the couch was a good place for you two to be bumping uglies?”
Nixie’s eyes bounced between Finn and myself with a puzzled expression on her pretty face.
I stood up, “You know what, don’t answer that, I can’t deal with this today. I’m exhausted. I just got an awesome tattoo, by the way. Just so you know. I was going to surprise you with it, but you don’t get to see the awesomeness until later now.”
“You what?” Finn asked.
I held my hand up in his face, “Talk to the hand ‘cause the face ain’t listening. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go scrub my eyeballs with bleach if you don’t mind.” I told him as I walked down the hallway. Every time I closed my damn eyes I could see Finn thrusting into Nixie and I wanted to hurl.
My day couldn’t possibly get any worse. Talking sex and babies with Weston, then seeing Finn’s arse as he pumped into his ex-girlfriend on my Netflix couch. I needed a huge glass of wine and a scalding hot bath to wash it all away.

Blurb
My name is Jaxson Albright. To my friends I’m known as Jax. I’m the disgraced son of well-known Politician, Malcom Albright. You could say I was born with a silver spoon in my mouth. I was supposed to follow in my father’s footsteps and move into politics. My whole childhood was spent being groomed for this role, but that wasn’t what I wanted. I had other plans.
To my family’s disgust, I’m inked, I’m pierced and I own and run a tattoo parlour, in the hip suburb of Newtown. I fit in here. I can be the man I was destined to be, the man my family are ashamed of. The son they regret having.
I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for my saviour, Candice. My pink-haired angel. We grew up in the same circle, but like me, she’s an outcast. She refused to conform to society’s ways. She’s the only one who stuck by me and not only encouraged, but supported my dream.
I love her. No, correction—I’m in love with her. I have been for as long as I can remember. She has no idea how I feel. It’s a battle I struggle with daily. I’ve kept my secret all these years because I couldn’t risk losing her. That’s a chance I’m not prepared to take, because she’s my best friend; my only real family.
I’ve spent the last few years moving from one hot chick to the next, trying to mask these feeling I have. But it doesn’t help—I can’t get her out of my head. She still owns my damn heart.
How do you get over the girl you know you can never have? And how do you live without the one person on this earth who is made for you?
She’s my soulmate.

Especially since the instructor is his best friend’s little sister-in-law, doesn’t have a lot of experience with men, and is totally off-limits. She’s everything David’s never wanted. ABOUT JENNA BAYLEY-BURKE
By day, Jenna is faster than a speeding toddler, stronger than a stubborn husband, able to leap tall Lego structures in a single bound…but by night, while the family sleeps she writes romance novels where no one ever has to scoop up after the dog, change diapers, clip coupons, drive carpool, do laundry, mop floors, get silly putty out of hair, vacuum, empty the vacuum bag (gross!), exercise, count calories, apply bandaids, clean up puke…wait where was this going? Oh, Jenna writes romance because it is glamorous. Just ask the dog.ENTER THE GIVEAWAY

For the
first 10% of this book I was thinking I might have made a mistake. I just
really struggled to get into it but then I am thinking that might have been
more to do with the kids extra high levels of insanity this week.
Once I got
over that slump I was so strongly invested in Sophie. She was such a great
leading lady I just wanted her to get her happily ever after. There wasn't a
single person around her I didn't want to kick in the dick for not appreciating
her and looking after her better.
Not that David
didn't warm up and prove himself but to start off I really didn't think he
could be worthy of Sophie. But then he did all these things that made me think
maybe he could man up and be close to good enough.
There was a
fair bit of emotion and once I got into it I was so hooked I couldn't put it
down. The sexual chemistry was so hot I couldn't get enough but that epilogue
just brought it all together so perfectly I loved it.
