I went into this book reluctantly. I had to read it to finish the series I have just binged but I was sure it was going to wreck me. Dante's story is one that has been woven through everyone's book because his tragedy touched them all. Along with his complete departure from his family to deal with his grief adding to their loss. And I was expecting to be dragged into that grief and reliving his loss with him.

So I was really happy that although we did see Dante struggling with his losses we didn't get his story until his beautiful baby Mary had started to bring him back to life. And I am really grateful that while we did get a lot of acknowledgment of how huge his loss was it wasn't anywhere near the focus of the story.

And although there was a lot of action and drama this book was about second chances and living life without regrets. Codie was a character I immediately liked. She was such a survivor. I loved that she had so much respect for Dante's journey. She didn't take it personally when he freaked out she just quietly left him to deal how he needed to and quietly tried to make it easier for him. And it just made me love her more.

The book was a great end to the series. Although I am going to have to hunt down Rafe's book as soon as I have the time to binge the next series.

Reed and Krisney's story is one that I find really hard to review. I just can't judge either of them for the way they dealt with the hands they were each dealt. The tragedy that they each suffered was the same but from different sides of it and they both sucked.

Obviously I would have preferred Reed not to have cut Krisney out of his life for 12 years. And I am not going to try to justify him doing that but I can understand why he felt he needed to.

The few reviews I read bashing Krisney for being a doormat feel a little harsh. I didn't feel like she was waiting around pining for Reed. She just felt resigned to the fact that he was someone she wasn't going to get over and trying felt worse than just living with it.

But Reed was right there in not moving on. And the lengths he went to to keep her alive and well made me forgive the stubbornness that kept them apart.

Now my feelings on it all might be that the book was being told in past and present tense and leaving out a lot of the time in between. Or it might just be that I was enjoying the story and didn't really look at what was missing because I was happy with what I had.

Now I am off to read the last book in the series and no doubt cry like a baby.

This book was both exactly what I was expecting and yet it didn't really play out how I was expecting at all.

I was expecting Lark to be meek and mild and probably a little broken. So I was really happy to discover she was such a fighter. She had gone through hell and yeah, she was still a little haunted by everything she had gone through but she was determined to live her life and enjoy it.

Baylor was everything that I expected. He was so protective of Lark and so gentle with her. The whole story kept me turning pages to see what was going to happen next. I really need to author stalk and find out if there's more books about the freebies and get Rafe's story.

OMG I can't wait for Dante's story because that little girl in his arms made me hope I could get through the heartbreak of his story.

Well I barely read the blurb for this one and I didn't care about the reviews I just jumped straight in and didn't put it down. Tate and Hennessy are absolutely my favourite couple so far.

I was excited to get to know Tate from the second he was mentioned in the first book. And throwing in the preacher's daughter who he had crushed on since they were kids made it even better. Everything about Tate was heartbreaking and perfect.

He was so determined to protect Hennessy from his reputation yet he couldn't stay away. And I loved the way he was so furious about everything Hennessy had gone through but he promised he wouldn't do anything so he put all of that upset into making sure she was safe and loved.

Hennessy was no slouch in the heroine department. She was afraid and scarred emotionally and physically but she wasn't a victim. She knew what she wanted and I liked that she didn't want it at any cost. When she didn't feel like she was going to get what she needed she was prepared to walk away. And I loved Tate even more for the fact he didn't play games he just laid it all out to her.

Absolutely adore a strong heroine and a protective alpha hero. This series just continues to get better.

After putting down Hail No I went straight to GoodReads to see what the reviews said for the next book in the series. I honestly was worried. On one hand I was dying to read it but on the other the reviews were a little everywhere.  There was a lot of Travis bashing and I was scared I was going to hate him.

And I kind of did but then I also kind of understood where he was coming from. His ex was a manipulative bitch who had a lot of power in their small town. But he seriously needed to man up and not let her actions dictate the happiness of everyone he loved.

Hannah was understanding and I appreciated that she was doing what she felt was best for everyone around her. She knew what was going on and didn't try to make it about her. I liked that when she was upset she let him know but I probably would have respected her more if she packed her things and left when he was being a jerk.

That said I can't wait to jump into the next one.

So my new years plan to clean up the 1000+ books on my kindle that I have yet to read is off to a great start. Well kind of. If you don't count the fact that I've read 6 books and added the four next books in each of their series to my kindle :/ ok so maybe it's not worked out quite how I planned but I have read some great books.

Lani Lynne Vale has been on my radar for years but I always put it off. Initially because she has a load of MC books and I tend to avoid those for being a little hit or miss for me. But for some reason this one registered with me and I one clicked it, then didn't read it.

And now I am hooked. There's something about a big, muscled, bike riding alpha who's been misunderstood by everyone that works. And Evander was just such a great hero. I loved him from the minute his first question was where are my horses and dog. Because there is seriously nothing hotter than a man who loves his dog.

Kennedy was as completely perfect as Evander. She was so sweet and soft and caring about everyone around her but she wasn't a doormat. She stood up for herself but she did it without disregarding anyone else's feelings or needs and without being an idiot.

The two of them together was hot and I was surprised by the full range of emotions I went through. And the introduction to Hannah and Travis has me hoping Hannah kicks him to the curb and shacks up with Rafe ;)

Damn that was one addictive read. I am not normally a fan of mafia romance but the blurb for this book grabbed my attention from the first time I read it and I am so glad I decided to pick it up and read it despite my mafia misgivings.

Now I have to be honest and say that Riley kind of annoyed me. She went from poor little victim to bad arse to helpless kitten too many times. Just when I would start to like her she would make me roll my eyes at her actions.

Kai on the other hand was the aloof, cold and calculating guy you would expect from a mafia boss. But of course we saw his soft, caring side shine through with his family and especially Riley.

Tijan is such an awesome author that I couldn't put it down and even though it was heavy on the mafia elements I still found myself totally engrossed. Hopefully Tijan decides to write books for the rest of the Bennett siblings because I am hooked.

I think I fell in love with Truman on the first page and I just fell deeper and deeper as the story progressed. I just couldn’t get enough of him or his story and I hung on every word of this book.

I expected something really dark and I went into this feeling very apprehensive as I just wasn’t in the mood for something dark and devastating. Thank god that wasn’t how this book was written and the amount of love that poured off the pages was so perfect and beautiful. There were a few moments of darkness but they were few and far between and the over whelming beauty of the book had me smiling and swooning so much more than I cried.

Tru was beyond perfection. He was the ultimate heart of golf in an inked armour and I can’t ever express how amazing he was. The way he loved his family made my ovaries explode and my heart beat out of my chest while tears streamed down my face. He was just incredible. And he absolutely made this entire book for me.

“I never thought I needed anyone, but I’m starting to think I was just waiting for you.”

Gemma was amazing most of the time but at others she annoyed me. Don’t get me wrong, I loved her and I thought she was great for Truman but she had a few moments where I wanted to smack her and tell her not to be an idiot.

This is the first time I have read a Melissa Foster book and I am so happy because if any of her other heroes are anything like Tru I can now go stalk her and add a whole heap of new book boyfriends to my ever growing list.

This seems to be the month for amazeballs books. It’s like all my favorite authors got together to see if they could blow my mind with their awesome.

It goes without saying that if Rebecca Yarros writes it, I will read it. But damn did this book have all the action and emotion I could handle and then some.

Wilder was everything I could ask for in a new adult hero. Cocky, arrogant, wild, man whore who knows what he wants and gives his whole heart and soul into getting it. He was so fearless and full of life it was hard not to fall in love with him as soon as I met him. He is one of those people who pulls you into his orbit without effort and I loved the fact that I could feel the pull between Wilder and Leah from their first meeting.

Leah was struggling so hard to repair her broken pieces and I loved that she never used everything she had gone through as an excuse to avoid her feelings for Wilder. She was such an amazing character I loved her as much as I loved Wilder. And despite a few tests and trials she never made stupid drama or excuses, she just pulled up her big girl panties and dealt with it. Her strength was awesome to watch.

There were a few things that upset me to no end and for a while there I thought I might have to put the book down and walk away but of course Rebecca is a goddess and she pulled me back to being on her stalker list and I absolutely can’t wait to read the rest of the Renegades finding their HEA.

Hmmm I am not really sure what to say or where to start with this one. I guess I should start at the beginning and for me that is Prick. I fucking loved it. And I had to read the rest of the series and to be honest it's been a little bit of a love hate relationship.

But as far as this book goes I think Sabrina summed it up when she said it was the most over the top of the series. And I absolutely agree with her but it's fiction and I enjoyed the over the top ness of the whole thing.

I loved the main characters and I loved the lack of drama and angst. And I was drawn in and invested from the very beginning. Albie was perfectly annoying and aggravating and entitled and just perfect. And Belle was frustrating and irritating and sweet and I really liked her.

Aside from Prince Albert’s Prince Albert I also loved that he was pretty damn good at the dirty talk and there was plenty of smoking hot sex to keep my panties wet.

But what I hated and what dropped my rating was the editing. And I am not referring to grammatical errors or spelling issues, I am talking about getting characters names WRONG repeatedly. Was the bodyguards name fucking Simon or Martin? Don't call the PR lady who is previously unintroduced by the main characters names. It pisses me off when I have to re-read a page repeatedly to realise it's a fuck up and it pulls me from the book for pages. And the bodyguards name had me flipping pages and ranting to my uninterested husband.

Ok rant over. Here's the thing, despite that I really enjoyed this book. But if you're going to have the same issue I did or if you can't stand an over the top storyline then maybe give this one a miss. That said I seriously did struggle to put this down today so if you think you can ignore those things this is well worth the read.

Check out my reviews for Prick and Cannon

I absolutely love Ginger Scott’s writing. I fell in love with her Falling Series so hard and I added this to my tbr pile and stalked her between books. And although I one clicked it and looked at it every time I looked for my next book to read I kept putting it off. I knew it would destroy me and I needed to find the time to hide away with it.

Well I wasn’t wrong, it destroyed me from the start, but it wasn’t at all what I expected from the blurb and in all honesty I am glad I went into it semi blind. Every twist in the story, every new tragedy, every piece of angst hit me like I was living it.

Kensi was so undeserving of the things that befell her yet she never once made it about her and I think that’s why I loved her so hard. She didn’t break and she kept fighting for the people she loved.

Owen, well, he had his arsehole , man whore moments but then I love that in a book boyfriend so it really just made me love him even more when he showed his true nature and let himself love Kensi.

This was an awesome book despite the puffy eyes from all the ugly tears I have cried and just further cements my crush on the amazing Ginger.

Fucking loved it.

I remember like it was yesterday the first time I picked up an Aurora Rose Reynolds ARC. It was Until November and I was blown away that this was her debut novel and I was one of the first to read it. It was pure perfection. It was like she looked inside my brain and found the perfect characters and story line to push all my own very personal buttons and I became obsessed.

Every new book she released I had to have it, I had to read it as soon as I got it and I had to finish it as soon as I started it. Her Until series is one of my all-time favourites and I loved the idea of following the story onto their kids. And I should have had no doubt that it would be perfect. I mean the list of authors who give me characters that I love from the first, who make my panties wet is only topped by 1 or 2 before Aurora’s name is there surrounded by highlighter and asterisk's.

Obviously anyone Raised by Asher and November had to be amazeballs and July did not disappoint. She is my favourite female lead at the moment. I love that she became a vet, that absolutely made my day. She was the perfect mix of strong and independent while still being feminine and sweet. But of course with how much I love her parents it would be very hard to imagine them raising anything but hell raising strong willed girls who very much know their own mind.

And Wes was, as you would expect from Aurora, the perfect growling, possessive, dirty-talking alpha. He was the perfect blend of all round good guy and dirty, bad ass biker.

As with all of her books the addition of their much loved and mentioned pets always make my association with them that much stronger. As weird as I am sure a lot of people will find it whenever I meet people without pets I always wonder what’s wrong with them. So whenever I pick up one of these books knowing we will have them added as characters is such a major plus I love it and I love the characters that much more for it.

There were a few things in here I would have like to see expanded and closed off and I felt the ending was a little rushed. But the epilogue was awesome and made me lie back with a stupid dreamy smile on my face thinking about how amazing Jax’s story will be after that much loved and much too short teaser into his boom.

So Until Jax I hope you find a few more amazing alphas to keep you warm.

I suppose I should start this review with a confession. I skimmed over the blurb for this book and thought it was another step brother romance with sport thrown in and since I had been on a bit of a roll with both of these themes I started this one. So if you were smart enough to read more than the first line of the blurb you already know that is not what I got.

With that said I am far from disappointed, it definitely wasn't what I was expecting and to be honest even now I have finished the book and read the blurb I think I still wouldn't have gotten what I was expecting.

To say the leading lady was a little left of centre is a bit of an understatement, she is completely pucking nuts and for the most part I loved it, however there were a few instances I wanted to slap her, hard, like really hard. But then I would end up giggling over her next stupid exploit and I would forget she annoyed me.

Being an Aussie we really don't get ice hockey at all but Helena gave me enough to make me want a hockey player of my own but not so much I got lost in the lingo.

And Alex was pretty much all around perfect. Enough said.

So if you're in the mood for a slightly strange story that will deliver a yummy sports star, a super hero monster cock, a lot of beavers and massive amounts of humour this is absolutely the book.

I received this ARC from the beautiful Elizabeth after she saw my mini meltdown on a friends review when I realised this book was nearly due for release. And I honestly went into it knowing only 3 things.
  •  It would destroy me with the depth of emotion Elizabeth always makes me feel for her characters
  •  My GR friends who had read it had loved it
  •  There would be smoking hot sex and an amazing ending that would make all the tears and feels well worth it.

And now that I have finished it, all of those things are confirmed and more.

Normally I get a little lost when timelines skip back and forth but this one just flowed so smoothly and blended together so perfectly, it built the angst and drama and suspense to such perfect levels that not only was it easy to follow but it was an amazing process to see what the characters had been through and how they had dealt with it all.

The story of Kane and his Hell (AKA Helene) was a hard one to hear and having it drip fed to me made my mind wander trying to guess what was coming next. At times I felt like I was in a Criminal Minds episode but it was happening to people I knew and loved, so I felt every action to the depths of my soul. And despite the tears streaming down my face as we walked through the past I couldn’t help but also feel like everything was going to be ok since we saw them in the present reconnecting and working through everything that had happened to them.

Elizabeth’s men are always king of the arseholes and as much as she makes me hate them she also shows us their depth of character and makes us realise exactly why they behave like they do and it’s hard not to want to love them and cuddle them and tell them they deserve more than they give themselves credit for. As well as kick them in their happy place and then jump on and ride them. And Kane was the epitome of all of that. I loved him almost as much as I hated his actions.

Helene was perfectly imperfect and she dealt with her past and present colliding with such inner strength it was amazing watching her overcome the obstacles in her path and fight for everything she wanted and deserved.

If you aren’t already a fan of Elizabeth Finn’s then I suggest you pre-order this book right now and while you’re waiting one click Brothers Keeper.
