You honestly can’t go wrong with the Sarina Bowen, Elle Kennedy combination and this series is just awesome. I went into the series not knowing that it was almost a spin off from the Him series and as soon as I realised that it just put the icing on the cake of my obsession with all things WAG’s.

The characters are always perfect but of course throw in single father Matt and it was never any doubt this story was going to win me over. Hailey was an unknown but I fell for her so quickly and despite the fact I went into the book already besotted with Matt she was very quickly the star of the show for me.

From the start Hailey was quirky and sweet and despite the fact she was at a low point in her life she was still willing to fight for everything she wanted and I loved how she put everyone else first but never let them walk all over her. She also didn’t make unnecessary drama or let petty jealousy or other peoples issues get in the way of what was going on between her and Matt.

Everything about this book kept me dying to find out what was going to happen next and see how these guys were going to get to their happily ever after. And now I am even more addicted to this series and desperate to see how the other guys story’s play out.

I honestly don’t know what I was expecting from this one. I knew I was going to love it and I knew I was going to laugh out loud but I think I kinda thought it was going to be something along the lines of forbidden brother’s best friend and be a little new adult angsty with humour or see I still don’t even know.

Obviously with the combination of Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy it’s going to be awesome so I guess it didn’t really matter what I thought I was going to get so much as the fact that it was a complete no brainer that I was going to love it. So here I was on a stormy, overcast summer day with a little free time and the kids all distracted when I figured I could sneak off and dive in. Luckily for me the stars aligned and I was completely forgotten by the boys. Not that it would have mattered as since I picked it up I couldn’t have put it down short of major blood loss or dismemberment.

Jessica was such a relatable character, I felt like we could have been besties from the start. She didn’t have all the answers and she was maybe lacking in a little self-esteem but she wasn’t whiny or insecure about it she just got on with things and lived her life. I really liked her and I loved her family. I had no idea this was a spin-off of sorts from Him so I now have to add that to the mountain and read it ASAP.

Blake had my attention from the beginning but there were a few things I wasn’t sure about but then I got over them pretty quickly. Without giving anything away I will just say that I am a huge fan of alphas who upon seeing the girl go balls to the wall to claim her and don’t think about another woman from the first meeting. And that wasn’t the case here. There was a period of time between their one night stand and them meeting up again where Blake wasn’t celibate but it was pretty much a non-issue and was glossed over and wasn’t part of the story. Just after they first reunited I was worried he might continue with the man whore ways. Thankfully it wasn’t like that at all and I didn’t think about it for more than a second but I know it might be an issue for some readers.

“At any rate, I’ve got this boyfriend thing down. Turns out it’s like riding a bike. But the bike is a hot blonde with big brown eyes and perfect tits. And I’m a really good rider.”

These two together had such great chemistry and their dialogue was laugh out loud funny and made me feel a real connection to them as a couple. I can’t wait for the next installment in the series but in the mean time I am off to one click Him.

Good Boy

Hosting her brother’s wedding for an MVP guest list is the challenge of Jess Canning’s life. Already the family screw-up, she can’t afford to fail. And nobody (nobody!) can learn of the colossal mistake she made with the best man during a weak moment last spring. It was wrong, and there will not be a repeat. Absolutely not. Even if he is the sexiest thing on two legs.
Blake Riley sees the wedding as fate’s gift to him. Jess is the maid of honor and he’s the best man? Let the games begin. So what if he’s facing a little (fine, a lot) of resistance? He just needs to convince the stubborn blonde that he’s really a good boy with a bad rap. Luckily, every professional hockey player knows that you’ve got to make an effort if you want to score.
But Jess has more pressing issues to deal with than sexy-times with a giant man-child. Such as: Will the ceremony start on time, even though someone got grandma drunk? Does glitter ever belong at a wedding? And is it wrong to murder the best man?
Warning: Do not read while sipping hot liquids. Or cold ones. Or while sitting anywhere laughter would be inappropriate. Contains hot but hilarious hockey players, puppies and a snarky pair of underwear.
