This series has been funny, I pick the book up and I can't remember anything about the previous books or characters and then before I've even finished the first chapter it all comes flooding back. And I completely love that they are all told at the same time as each of their own perspectives, with each of their own things. Yet we still got to see the other couples at key moments.

Morgan and James don't seem like they should work on paper. But then as you dig beneath the perfect ice queen veneer you see that James is the perfect person to bring out her real. Although he had a few "dumb teenage boy" moments where I really needed him to give better grovel. He was a genuinely good and caring guy with his feet firmly on the ground.

I really enjoyed the story. And even though it was told in dual point of view Morgan was the star of the story for me. Watching her come through everything and get her confidence and self-worth back was beautiful. There were a few things I would have liked to see closed out a little more or differently or I don't even know, I think I just want more.

Back to Welles we go and honestly, I kind of forgot most of my last visit until I was reading. And I really like that this one was so different from the first in that there was so much going on outside of the main couple that could have had the story go in so many different directions. I couldn't put it down because I didn't want to miss a second of finding out what was going to play out.

Brooklyn and Cameron were so different on the surface but once we get to know them, they are both just beautiful people. I loved seeing the way Cam opened up to the people he loved and gave them all of him. And seeing Brooklyn fighting for him was even better.

The relationship between these two grew so naturally and was so solid despite everything that was thrown at them. The lack of the obvious, easy drama made the actual drama shine that much stronger and I can't wait to see the next book land on my kindle.

About the book

On the surface, Cameron Hass always seems a bit risky. First to take the dare, last to leave the tracks in the face of an oncoming train, the Boston rebel has always liked to flirt with danger. But underneath, he’s terrified. Not about breaking an arm or getting pulled over for driving twice the speed limit, but about the man he’s going to become when he graduates from Welles Academy. His role models have never really been much to look up to.

Brooklyn Bennett, on the other hand, always appears to have it together. Every button is done, every hair in the perfect place, every grade not just an A, but an A+. Beautiful, smart, and from political royalty, Brooklyn set her future goals at the age of five, and she’s never strayed from the path of following in her parents’ diplomatic footsteps.

Until now.

Surviving a terrifying car crash her junior year left Brooklyn questioning a lot of things. Losing her best friend left her feeling alone. But Cameron’s always been a good listener. And messy or not, his heart has always been in the right place. And when Brooklyn needed someone, he was right there. Maybe . . . he’s been there all along.

But how do chaos and rules go together? And what happens if the rest of the world wants to keep them apart?

Oh damn was this book heartbreaking in all the very best of ways. And yes I know that sounds weird but every time I cried I had a smile on my face. Because even though these characters went through the very worst time of their lives they came out stronger and far from broken. Even if it took them some time to realise it.

Lily and Theo started off kind of at odds. Each of them, stuck in their own grief and guilt and not sure how they should feel or act. And I seriously loved watching them work it out and begin to heal. Even if they still have a lot of things outside of their control they are on the track of a beautiful future.

The secondary characters were just as awesome and I'm hoping that we will get their stories and maybe catch up with lily and Theo in the near future. Because every single one of these characters is someone I need to see get their very own happily ever after.
