I feel like I have read this series in slow motion, but it has stayed with me. Each time I put one of the books down I immediately grab the next one and then need to wait for the fortitude to read it. Because for a paranormal series it has been a super emotional ride. And in classic Tessa Bailey style it's also extremely hot.

Tucker was the steady, funny, reliable sidekick that I didn't really think twice about in the earlier books. He was just always there with a joke and a bail out, but I didn't know what to expect from him. After seeing the meeting between him and Mary in the last book I was dying to see them from their own points of view.

I was also dying to see what was going to happen with the war. And for all the twists and turns that this story took I couldn't guess how that was going to play out. There were some that we saw coming but most completely blindsided me. Tucker was the perfect person for Mary. And I loved watching her blossom and shake off all the things that she had previously thought were disabilities.

The whole book was just beautiful, and I was really blown away by how much I felt. And I honestly didn't see the ending coming but I couldn't have been happier with it.

I seriously need to know what happens in my head that means after reading the first two books in a series and loving them, the minute I have to wait for the next book means I'll end up waiting years to read it. Tessa Bailey is such a talented author, and this series has been awesome so I don't know why it took me years to read this.

Jiya and Andrew were really unique for a friend's to lover’s romance. Absolutely nothing about their journey was expected and I couldn't put it down. First the friendship between them was beautiful but the way they each felt and the reason for them being stuck in the friendzone was a great read. Throw in the absolute fierceness of Andrew's love and possessiveness on top of his selflessness made him just beyond.

I really liked Jiya too, but I am absolutely obsessed with Andrew. Between his dirty mouth and complete devotion, I was as desperate to slap him for being an idiot as I was to jump him. But Jiya understood him. and once she realised she wasn't alone in the depth of her feelings I love that she went after it so hard.

This book was just the right blend of emotions, angst and hot as hell. I really don't know why I didn't read it years ago.

I have had this book on my kindle since it was released. I read the first book and loved it but then I had to wait for this one and I added it to the tbr and then got distracted and then I couldn’t really remember it and figured I would need to reread the first book. But then I hit a “what the hell do I read next” wall and was craving some of Tessa Bailey’s heroes and thought what the hell. And before I had finished the first chapter it had all come flooding back.

Because not only was this world unique, but the characters were a certain kind of special. Honestly this whole world is so well built I feel like I’m going to stumble across it while out getting petrol one night. And despite the fact it has been years since I read the first book, I can still remember enough of the characters to be able to jump in like I never left.

Roksana and Elias were hot as hell, and I had no idea where the love - hate relationship had come from until I started reading this book and then I was just stunned. Their first meeting was so electric I could feel their instant attraction and I had absolutely no idea how they were going to get from there to the point I had met them. And to be honest I was scared to find out.

Thankfully this was told in dual point of view so when Roksana was seeing things from her point of view and they certainly didn’t put Elias in a positive light we then got Elias tormented over what he was doing to protect his secret and by extension to protect Roksana. Because Elias was seriously one amazing, sweet, protective hero.

This story was so engrossing, and I was dying to see how all the secrets were going to come to light. And what was going to happen next. I am so excited to see how the next book has everything resolve and watch the relationship between these guys grow even stronger. I have complete faith they will save the world.

I can’t tell you why it took me so long to read this series, I love Tessa’s writing and her books are always ones that make me sigh after putting them down and yet this one just lingered on my TBR. And then I grabbed It Happened One Summer in KU and fell in love with Piper and Brendan. So obviously I had to jump right into this one, after I got over the fact, I had to pay $10 for it. I know that it’s worth it but for some reason it always hits me when it's more than a cup of coffee. But in all honesty I barely blinked when I one clicked because I had to read Fox and Hannah’s book.

I wasn’t disappointed in the slightest. I had a feeling I was going to love Fox when I got to see more of him. There is something about a redeemed man-whore that just pushes my happy buttons in a book. And seeing him be sweet and soft with Hannah in small doses in the previous book I was so ready to see if he was this brash womaniser or a sensitive soul, we got those small moments with. And my god was I heartbroken to see the depth of Fox’s soul.

It’s funny that the way we speak about men’s sexuality is almost a complete contrast to the way we address women’s. And I honestly never thought about the effect and pressure that those things can put on a young man. But reading this book actually made me think about those things and feeling sad that there’s so little care given to men’s emotional wellbeing.

Wow that got deep fast. But seriously I loved getting to see the softer side of Fox. It was almost as delicious as the yummy, growling, possessive, hard side of him. Hannah was such a perfect contrast in her caring nature and growing into her own confidence having to live out from under the shadow of her larger-than-life sister. This book was one that really made me sit back and think while I inhaled every word. And although I did do a lot of contemplation of toxic masculinity the book was light and fun and easy to read. I’m going to miss these sisters and their sexy sea captains.

Tessa Bailey writes the best dirty talkers. Honestly, it's just a fact at this point that the hero is going to say things that cause a quiver. Which is a tall task when a lot of the time it comes off as more cringy than hot. But somehow Tessa has it down to a science.

The way this book was written in the third person took me a while to get my head around because it's been forever since the last time, I have read a book that wasn't written in first. But the story had me so in love with both characters that I soon didn't even really notice.

Piper had so much personal growth that it was impossible not to be in her corner. And I felt so sorry for her despite the fact that she had everything money could buy. I really wanted to smack her mum in the face and ask her to be a parent to her daughter's.

Brendan was the perfect hero for Piper. He was so solid and dependable and owned his mistakes. I loved how all in he was from the second he realised that she could be it for him. He gave such amazing boyfriend and was just such a man. I loved everything about these two together and I can't wait to dive into Hannah's book even if I feel queasy paying that much for an ebook.

I love this series so much, the Just Us League is a thing of beauty. But whoever classified these as romantic comedy has a mean sense of humour. There are some laugh out loud moments, generally when I am caught unaware and emit one of those snort laugh things that has the dog looking at me like I’m nuts. But these stories have so much depth and the characters are so human and flawed that they made me feel all of their insecurities and worries and fears and I spent so much of the book feeling anything but laughter.

Bethany was the sort of character I can only imagine, I am so far from that A type personality that reading her thoughts made my heart hurt for her. She was perfect, in that entirely broken way every human is. And I loved that Tessa wrote her warts and all, but more, I love that Tessa lead her to showing her warts to everyone that loved her.

Although seriously if Wes were chasing after me wanting to hold all my broken pieces and whispering dirty nothings in my ear, I’d probably show him whatever he wanted. Because damn was Wes mature beyond his young years. And getting to know him and see where life had taken him, I just loved him even more.

Of course Laura was an absolute star and no one could help but fall in love with her. She was perfectly age appropriate and I enjoyed watching her worm her way into everyone’s hearts and make them want to be better people for her. Hopefully this isn’t the end of our Just Us League members stories because I have had so much fun watching them support each other to pursue their dreams.

“Beers on me later,” Elias muttered, keeping his attention on the cards. “You can ask me whatever you want…”

He trailed off, that scrape between his shoulder blades growing more pronounced, until he couldn’t concentrate enough to decipher the suits of his cards. What the hell was going on? Throat dry, he laid down his hand and turned in his chair—

Silence fell around him when he saw her.

She was golden. Radiant.

Miserable.

The long-legged blonde limped through the casino with a beautiful pout on her face, a pair of high heels shoved under one arm. There was a fine sheen of dew on her incredible face, telling Elias she’d just escaped the stifling Vegas heat. Simply by existing, she commanded fealty and the casino seemed to part around her like the Red Sea, creating a path for her to complete a wobbly strut toward Elias’s poker table—and the closer she came, the more his lungs compressed, as if he was running out of fucking oxygen.

Who is she?

No idea. But the discomfort between his shoulder blades was gone.

Like a balm had been applied.

The girl was beyond gorgeous. He’d never noticed cheekbones on anyone in his life, but he noticed her high ones. The indigo blue of her eyes. And Jesus, he definitely noticed the way her soft mutterings made his heart flop over. Who are you?

Vaguely, he heard Latte ribbing him. “Bet you’d call her back, huh, Silent E?”

“Forget what I said about him being mysterious,” Kenny quipped. “Everything he’s thinking is right there on his face.”

More laughter. But the buzzing in his skull was already drowning them out.

Elias watched the blonde’s high heel fall out of her arms and flop sideways on the casino floor. He was on his feet before it stopped moving, abandoning his hand at the table without a thought so he could scoop up the shoe and follow. He didn’t have a choice in the matter. Going after her was a requirement, searing him, compelling him.

And a moment later, when she looked up at him from her seat at a slot machine, his world righted itself with a grinding snap. He hadn’t even known it was off kilter.

The blonde crossed her impossibly sexy legs and his body reacted swiftly, hardening.

“Well?” she said in a husky Russian accent. “Make it good. I only have five minutes before I wreak the havoc.”

Excerpt
“Will there be a million weeping women at your wake?” She tapped a finger to her lips. “There will be, I’m sure of it. The place will overflow with tears. I better make sure our flood insurance is up to date.”
As she commenced circling the table once more, her white lab coat scratched against the hem of her green plaid dress, which fell sensibly to her knees. It was cold in the funeral home, especially downstairs where P. Lynn Funeral Home’s guests were kept in preparation for their final goodbye, so she’d pulled on thick black stockings with a flower pattern before coming below to work the night shift.
Dressing with care was Ginny’s way of showing respect to the people she worked on—a fact her stepmother and reluctant business partner often scoffed over—but a T-shirt and jeans simply didn’t cut the mustard when she’d been entrusted with a loved one’s care. Ginny had designed and sewn her current ensemble in class and she definitely shouldn’t be wondering what Dreamboat here would think about the cut and fabric. Or if he’d notice she’d fitted it a touch tighter in the hip zone than usually made her comfortable.
“I need help.” She gathered her auburn hair over one shoulder. “You agree, don’t you? Finally, you’ve gotten peace and quiet from your multitude of admirers and here I come, trying to annoy you into reanimation so I can find out the color of your eyes. You must want to die all over again.”
Continuing her journey around the table, Ginny’s gaze ticked to the clock, reminding her she should have started working half an hour ago. Why was she so reluctant to begin? Where did she get off experiencing the weight of loss when she’d never crossed paths with this individual before?
“Anyway, I know what you’re thinking. She’s brought up my legion of female fans three times now. She must be jealous.” Ginny stopped beside Dreamboat and looked down at his regal brow, the masculinity of his jaw, and a horrible welling started in her chest. “I think you’d be right,” she whispered in a red-cheeked rush. “I think if you’d smiled at me even once on the subway a decade ago, I’d be out avenging your death right now. Isn’t that crazy?”
Just to be sure a terrible (wonderful) mistake hadn’t been made, Ginny lifted her right hand, letting two fingers hover over Dreamboat’s pulse. Her heart rate spiked at the prospect of touching him, which didn’t bode well for tonight’s task of filling his veins with formaldehyde. How could she give him the proper care he deserved if she couldn’t stop shaking?
A bracing breath passed between her lips.
She touched her fingers down to his pulse.
Nothing.
There had been no mistake.
He was thoroughly, devastatingly dead.
“I’m so sorry,” Ginny managed, her tears welling at such a rapid pace that one escaped, glopping heavily onto the man’s stone cold torso.
His eyes shot open.
His…eyes shot open?

Reborn Yesterday was everything. It’s not surprising since Tessa Bailey can write anything but I went into this with a slight bit of apprehension. Sometimes paranormal romance can be a little hit or miss for me and I was worried that the things I love from Tessa Bailey might not translate too well but I should have known better.

Jonas and Ginny were such awesome characters and I immediately loved them both. From their very cute meet cute where I felt the sparks flying between them both to their very last words in the book. Their story was so unique and I loved their entire world. It made me feel that despite their obvious differences ( you know the whole dead / alive hiccup) they were both such kind and caring people who were fundamentally compatible.

The secondary characters were just as much a part of the story and I couldn’t be happier to see that Tessa is already off plotting their story. There were so many twists and turns throughout this whole book that I never once felt the “I know where this is going”. And a few times I had to put the book down and get a reality check. I was so caught up in the story and flying through the pages I didn’t want it to end.

And although I really want to gush and gush about this book I think you need to go in without knowing any of the twists and turns. Just know that it has Tessa Bailey’s flair for writing all the way through. It has the dirty talking, protective, alpha hero who is as sweet and loving and gentle imaginable with his strong, smart, sassy, funny heroine. It has great secondary characters you will fall in love with and be waiting to see in their own books. And it doesn’t have anywhere near enough words to last a lifetime. But I’m sure every time I see that beautiful cover I will be reliving the warm fuzzies I felt reading it.

As soon as I put down Fix Her Up I was dying to read the story of Dominic and Rosie. I ran straight to Edelweiss and requested a review copy and got promptly declined. Then a while later they must have forgotten about that and they sent me a review copy. But as is my chaotic mind I wasn't in the right headspace for the story so I held off.

It was so obvious that Rosie and Dominic loved each other but along the way life got in the way. And I thought maybe there was going to be a very devastating reason why Dominic had closed down the lines of communication with Rosie. I was really glad that wasn't the case. They had both just gotten lost in the routine.

Reading this I actually found myself realising how true it is of every relationship. We all do need love shown or told to us in our own ways and sometimes we take for granted that our partners might need it in a different way.

Dominic did countless things to show his love for Rosie but he did them so quietly she wasn't even aware of them. He was so in love with Rosie I could feel it the whole time I was reading their story. And while Rosie obviously loved Dominic she was so caught in what he wasn't doing for her she didn't realise how little she was giving back.

I loved how hard Dominic fought to make Rosie's dreams come true. He was all the things  I love in a romance hero. And even though he wasn't great at communicating what he was thinking and feeling he was prepared to put his own insecurity aside to keep his wife. And the fact he was such a vocal, dominant partner in the bedroom just added to his appeal.

Because damn does Tessa Bailey do dirty talk well. And as emotional as I found this book I also got a lot of sexual chemistry. Plus I got the Just Us League and a massive tease for Bethany and Wes. Which feels like it's going to be a panties optional read ;)

This is one of those where the hell have I been moments. I love, love, love, love Tessa Bailey's writing and when I first saw this book months ago I was obsessed. I requested an arc and was devastated when they rejected me because it meant I had to wait forever to read it. And then as it dropped further down my TBR I got distracted and forgot about it.

Then yesterday I was looking for the perfect read to help block out the real life dramas and this popped up. And BAM Tessa Bailey bubble activated. Despite a serious lack of sleep recently I couldn't have put this down if the house was on fire.

Georgie and Travis were perfect. Both together and separately. Of course Travis was possessive, jealous, growling, dirty talking and I loved him from the first. But having his point of view made me love him more even harder. And when he came to her defense I couldn't have been happier.

The only thing that I didn't love was the ending. I would have killed for an epilogue but I am hoping we will catch up with them down the road as we get more couples. And honestly I was so in this book the whole time I was reading it that I don't think I could ever get enough. And now I am off to stalk a release date for the next book because I am thinking they are going to be even hotter and Dom is going to be even more alpha. Can't wait.

I rarely read MM romance, not because I don’t like it but just because there’s so many other romance genres that I prefer I never get there except for a few certain authors who if they write it I will read it. And Tessa Bailey is one of the authors at the top of that list. Her books are just so freaking hot yet they aren’t lacking in the emotion or storyline either. Sometimes I think she has the map to all my kinks.

And this series has been perfect. I loved Olive and Rory so much and I really enjoyed meeting the other Prince brothers. And I really did fall hard for Marcus and Jamie but I really didn’t think I would be as big a fan of Marcus as I came to be. He came across as being so full of himself but in a way that was cute and loveable until I started to see him through Jamie’s eyes and see everything he was going through from his own point of view. Then he was just perfect.

I can’t even fathom how hard it would be to go through being judged for who you are as a person. And watching Marcus struggle with not just realising he was gay but also how to tell his family actually made me tear up a little bit. And then on the flip side Jamie being out and proud despite the things he had gone through to get there I completely understood him not wanting to wait for Marcus to figure out who he was.

Of course the writing was so good that I felt every emotion they went through. The good and the bad. Then you have Tessa Bailey’s trade mark sizzling, hot as hell chemistry and the whole book was unputdownable. From start to finish I was so involved and I loved every word of it.

And now I am dying to get my hands on the next book which had better be Andrew and Jiya’s or I may have to start a mutiny. Plus I am dying from the suspense of who the damn guy is floating around. Just release the damn book already Tessa.

Yeah I totally read this because it was shelved as best dirty talk by a few of my GoodReads friends. Add the fact it was co-written by Tessa Bailey and you just know it’s going to be hot. And even though I don’t share Autumn’s kinks it was definitely hot but it was also a lot more that I wasn’t really expecting.

I haven’t read any books by Eve Dangerfield before so I didn’t really know what to expect from her contribution into this. What I got was a heap of laughs and a very rare authentic Aussie “sheila”. Autumn was so Aussie in her inner thoughts and speaking it was awesome. It was so good to see a genuinely Australian character and I had so many laugh out loud moments with her I enjoyed everything about her.

Blake was pretty damn great himself. He was the perfect guy for Autumn and I was hooked from the start. I mean seriously who here can resist a guy who loves books? And turns himself inside out to be perfect for Autumn. Sure he made some mistakes but he was so sincere in everything he did for her it was super sweet.

I totally loved Blake and Autumn as a couple and the way they interacted was so real and felt so natural and I loved every part of this story.

Every now and then I read a Tessa Bailey book and it just fucking does it for me. And honestly I can't even tell you why. I think it's the hero being all obsessive and possessive. Or maybe it's the heroine being all quirky and unique. Or the secondary characters being so well developed but not taking away from the story. Or maybe it's just everything all mixed together just right.

Whatever it is this book just worked. I loved Rory so much and Olive was so perfect for him. But in the interest of full disclosure there were a few things in this story that normally would piss me off but due to the circumstances they were completely understandable and made the story better.

So yeah I love Tessa Bailey. She writes the hottest dirty talkers and I can't get enough of them. Oh and just randomly the cover is perfect for the book and it doesn't hurt it's a pretty hot cover.

About TOO CLOSE TO CALL:

All-American wide receiver Kyler Tate’s life is about to change. A fairytale college career skyrocketed him to the NFL draft. Adoration and opportunity are thrown in his direction wherever he goes, thanks to being chosen in the first round by the Los Angeles Rage.

None of the accolades mean anything, though, without his high school sweetheart, Bree Justice, by his side. Four years ago, she walked away from Kyler, choosing a quiet life over the flash and notoriety his career would someday bring.

Now he’s back in their Indiana hometown, refusing to leave for Los Angeles without her. Demanding she give their life together a shot. Her heart never stopped bleeding for the love of her life, but Bree’s decision was final. Too bad their wild attraction has only been amplified by their separation, and Kyler won’t quit until Bree is wearing his ring.

EXCERPT

“Whoa there,” Bree whispered shakily. “This is a church dance.”
Her words seemed to bring him back from whatever land he’d been teleported to. “Right,” he rasped. “We’re supposed to be setting an example.”
“Yes.”
“So I should definitely stop thinking about sucking on your lower lip.”
Bree’s thighs pressed together, her gasping inhale shivering all the way down into her tummy. Lower. “Stop that right now.”
His gaze remained zeroed in on her mouth. “Stop thinking about it or saying it out loud?”
Both.” Trying desperately to remain indignant in the face of that face—and that drawl, those muscles, his familiar scent—Bree warned him with a look. “You said we were going to be friends. There’s nothing the least bit friendly about lip sucking.”
“I don’t know.” He hummed in his throat and tightened his hold around her waist. “Seems like letting me do it would be mighty friendly of you.”
Bree tamped down a laugh. “Friendly or stupid?”
“Stupid?” Kyler frowned. “Why?”
“Because we both know where it leads.”Shit almighty. How had it come to this? She was plastered against her ex-boyfriend—whom she’d yet to shake completely. He looked delicious enough to eat, and now they were having a conversation about sex. And—and—she was wearing her feel- good dress. The one she wore when her hair was down and everything was shaved and waxed. Had she primped because Kyler was back in town? It was too infuriating to speculate on.
“You’re getting pretty worked up down there, supergirl.”

About Tessa Bailey

Tessa Bailey is originally from Carlsbad, California. The day after high school graduation, she packed her yearbook, ripped jeans and laptop, driving cross-country to New York City in under four days.   Her most valuable life experiences were learned thereafter while waitressing at K-Dees, a Manhattan pub owned by her uncle. Inside those four walls, she met her husband, best friend and discovered the magic of classic rock, managing to put herself through Kingsborough Community College and the English program at Pace University at the same time. Several stunted attempts to enter the work force as a journalist followed, but romance writing continued to demand her attention. She now lives in Long Island, New York with her husband of eight years and four-year-old daughter. Although she is severely sleep-deprived, she is incredibly happy to be living her dream of writing about people falling in love.
