BLURB
I only have room for two things in my life:
football and my daughter.
At least until my brother's ex-girlfriend shows up
at my team's stadium needing a white knight.
When I find out she's also got a secret summer
checklist that I'm uniquely qualified for?
I've forgotten all the reasons she should be off
limits, and I'm signing up to be more than just her part-time bodyguard.
But when the threats she's receiving escalate and
the danger is at our doorstep, we have to decide if more than one summer is
worth fighting for—whatever the cost.

I stumbled upon Maggie Rawdon by complete accident
and became obsessed. And since I was lucky enough to get in early, I feel like
I've watched her writing develop. That said, I am not an analytical reader, I
like what I like, and sometimes that's something I wouldn't like a week before.
For me getting in early is normally a bad thing because I have to wait for each
book to be written rather than just stalking the back catalogue. But I can
honestly say in this instance I've noticed the growth and it's lined up
beautifully with my reading kinks.
This book was soo hot. Like unbelievably need to
put it down because I was squirming in public, and hubby was very aware of my
issue. Which I wasn't expecting from the blurb. I was kind of worried about the
whole brother’s ex thing but honestly I couldn't have cared less once I started
reading it.
Coop was everything. He was an amazing father and I
loved seeing the relationship between Coop and Lizzy along with the snips of
co-parenting with Lizzy's mum. And the way Beatrix fit in with them was
perfect. But Coop, not the father, was beyond words. He was jealous and
possessive and protective and the way he let her set the pace while still
pushing her for more.
Beatrix was so genuine. She felt her pain, but she
didn't let it control her actions. I seriously enjoyed watching her share her
story with Coop and being so open and honest about her feelings made her even
better.
I loved every minute of reading this book and I
can't recommend it more. I would just suggest reading it in private with no
distractions.
Maggie
Rawdon has quickly become a one click author for me. The only issue is I've
read everything she has written so far, and I hate having to wait for her to
write them so I can read them. First world problems, I know. The other issue is
that despite them not all being the same series there's a lot of crossovers in
characters so while I'm reading, I have these moments where I have to stop and
think about if I've met the character previously. Luckily for me they all are
stand-alones so the fact I forget more than I remember doesn't affect the
story.
I
waited to read Before the Chaos until I could jump straight into this after.
And I'm glad I did because I fell hard for both Quentin and Madison. I couldn't
wait to see how everything was going to be resolved. I only wish that Quentin
hadn't let ten years go by before he tried to fix it all. Like seriously why
couldn't you have gone grovelling after the first year?
Because
Quentin and Madison were meant to be together. The chemistry between them was
electric and I couldn't get enough of the way Quentin loved her so completely.
I just literally can't understand why he waited ten freaking years. And the
fact that Madison just got on with her life made me so happy. I can't stand it
when the women pine and wait while the man is off living their best life.
The
book was awesome. The story was great, and I couldn't put it down, hence me
still lying in bed in my PJs, sorry fam. I adore all the previous couples and I
can't wait to see who we are getting next, hopefully Bea and Cooper. But for now,
I'm going to stare dreamily off into space thinking about the perfection that
was Quentin.
It's
been a while since I have gotten so invested in characters in a novella. I mean
I am not great at the whole patience thing so I couldn't read this prequel
until I had the actual book in my kindle. But from the first chapter I wanted
everything to be sunshine and roses for these guys.
And
I deliberately didn't read the blurbs because I wanted to enjoy the prequel
without having an idea of how it was going to play out. So I spent half of this
book trying to imagine the different ways it could play out and hanging on
every word.
And
the ending had me beyond grateful that I can jump straight into the book right
now because this is awesome.
