Release Date: February 9
Ah, it's Becca and Nico, finally. After the teaser at the end of the last book I have been waiting impatiently for this to land on my kindle. Because that was seriously mean. Especially since both books occurred at the same time so we got a slight tease of these two all through that book.
Not to mention that we have gotten to know a fair bit about both Nico and Becca and they are both great characters. In fact I have really been loving all the characters in this series. And getting to know the secondary characters before their stories feels like little breadcrumbs. Then getting more of them after their book is another awesome bonus.
This book was a little more emotional than I was expecting. Which was stupid of me since I knew what the twist was and had guessed how it had come about. I just wasn't anticipating being so emotionally invested in their relationship. Their chemistry from the start was so hot. And their connection felt so natural and strong. I could feel their devastation. I was dying to see how they were going to work it out and I was completely wrong in my guesses.
Of course all of these can be read as standalones but reading them in series order just adds to each characters background info. And it really does feel like catching up with old mates as we see each couple flourish and new relationships bloom.

As captain of the Dallas Oilers, I was their leader on and off the ice. From the outside, it looked like I had the perfect life.
I didn’t.
I was married to a woman who refused to give me a divorce. All she wanted was the status title, and all I wanted was to be set free.
It was supposed to be just another event, except it took a turn I didn’t see coming.
Evelyn
Attending my best friend’s bachelorette party isn’t something I was looking forward to.
But it’s strange what a couple of glasses of wine will do.
It was one night, and I thought I would never see him again.
Especially not coming face-to-face with him and his wife while picking up my nephew from hockey practice.
All it takes is one kiss, one touch, one chance, and only one night.
I have been looking forward to Manning's story the most. But I really wasn't sure how Natasha was going to work it out in a way that wouldn't make things uncomfortable.
Because even though we knew Manning was an amazing father and his wife was the wicked witch I didn't want him to do anything to make me not like him. And in a subject this sensitive I couldn't think how it was going to play out without him doing something unforgivable.
I should have had more faith. Because this book was written so well that I couldn't fault how everything happened. Evelyn was a great character, and she was so perfect for Manning.
The whole thing had me unable to put it down. And that epilogue was the cherry on top. But oh my god that teaser at the end was so mean. And now I have to wait forever for Becca and Nico. I hate wait.

I have had such a really long week and all I have wanted to do was curl up in bed and read. Instead I have had to read a chapter here and there. As such I found it hard to connect with the story. Which sux because I am a huge fan of Natasha Madison. And I adored Only One Kiss so I was really looking forward to this one.
Miller took me a little off guard. I expected him to go all out trying to win Layla and I guess in his own way he did. He just didn't realise that he was approaching it all wrong. But once he realised the error of his ways, he worked so hard to set things straight.
Layla was really relatable and I loved that she was so comfortable being herself. She stood up for what she deserved and when she wasn't getting it she didn't react with unnecessary drama. And her grandmother was absolutely priceless.
Overall, the story was good, and I enjoyed it when I could manage to read it long enough to get caught up in it. I am so desperate to get my hands-on Manning's book next.

Being traded to Dallas was a dream come true. I had everything I wanted, my game had never been better, and my wife was due to have our baby any day now.
So I just finished the Southern series and naturally I had to jump straight into this one. And I didn't read the blurb, I just figured it was more small southern town secrets. So, I was really shocked when I realised that Candace was related to characters from the This Is series. Which kind of sucks since it's still sitting in my kindle waiting for me to have time.
Luckily, the story is a new series and can be read as a standalone. But it does have me wanting to drop everything and curl up with those books, damn commitments.
Anyway, this was back in the hockey world with a widowed father and I was nervous. Dead spouses are always a hard one to juggle especially when there are children involved. Obviously I don't want them to be compete psychos and have zero feelings for the ex but people tend to romanticize the dead. And then you've got the whole survivor’s guilt and things are messy.
Thankfully, Natasha walked the line perfectly and gave us a hero we could love. Who was made even better by a heroine that was understanding and mature and sweet and perfect. Honestly, the worst thing about the hero for me was that he was named Ralph. But that’s a me issue and I quickly got over it.
Candace and Ralph were so great together. They communicated like adults. And little Ariella was the star of the show. She was painful, and interrupting and exactly the age appropriate little cock blocker that babies are. But I loved that she was put front and centre by both of them in everything because that's what babies do. They hijack your life and make you so sleep deprived that you love them for it.
This book was perfect. There was emotion, chemistry, sex scenes and great characters. I am hoping that the teaser means we are getting Miller's next and I am so there for the drama and angst I am already anticipating.
