New York Times bestselling author Katy Regnery returns with the fifth book in her Odds-Are-Good series!

Tony moved to small, remote Craig, Alaska, three years ago in the hopes of disappearing from his uncle's mob associates in northern New Jersey. But Alaska ain't home. And he misses the Jersey girls he grew up with.

On behalf of all the "plain Janes" in the world, Tessa answers Tony's personal ad, intending to teach its cocky, conceited author an important lesson: he ain't all that. But something about Tony draws her in. And when she finds herself (and her 3-year-old daughter) in danger, she flees to Craig to disappear with Tony.

Now, Craig may be remote, but it's still in the U.S. ... Tony and Tessa won't be able to stay hidden forever. When their pasts catch up with them, difficult choices will need to be made, and a deep love that once seemed unlikely might not be enough to save the day.

I feel like this book took me on a serious journey. Not just to Alaska and New Jersey but also through the full range of emotions. I felt all the feels and then I felt them all over again. And every time I thought I saw what was coming I just ended up speechless from the next emotion. Katy Regnery really does know how to write a unique story with all the feels, so I don’t know why I wasn’t expecting them. I guess because the other Odds Are Good books have been a little lighter and just easy reads, I expected this one to follow on that suit.

Tessa and Tony were both such strong willed and strong-minded characters and their initial clash was awesome. And from that second, I was hooked. Tessa thought she had Tony pegged and was determined to put him in his place. And man was she feisty. Everything about her character just resonated with me. She was such a great mother, and I loved her relationship with Gia. Gia was pretty perfectly written for a four-year-old. And considering I live with 2 of them I could completely see her shining through on the page.

Tony initially came across as this chauvinistic, materialistic jerk and I was worried I was going to hate him for the entirety of the book. Thankfully he grew up quickly once he opened his eyes and took assessment of himself and the world around him. And once he did, I loved him so hard. I loved that he was so open in his affections with both Tessa and Gia. And underneath that initial layer was an amazing man with a soft heart and a strong protective streak, and he was everything that Gia and Tessa needed.

I seriously loved the whole book. Hopefully we are getting more in this series, sooner than later.

Being a huge fan of Katy Regnery’s I’ve read quite a few of her books so I always know going in that I’m going to enjoy the book I just never know if she is going to have me smiling like a lovestruck idiot or bawling like a baby. But it’s generally ok since I know the writing will be superb and I will walk away having read a great story. And I am loving The Odds Are Good Series. It’s not just a great twist on how these unexpected couples come together but it’s also a great geography teaser for someone a long way away from Alaska.

Addison was so poised and together that I have to admit she kind of intimidated me. She just had everything so well together I figured she had led a charmed life. But as we got to know her and she shared her story with Gideon and her love for her brother came through I really loved her. Her story just made her devotion to finding her brother that much more commendable.

But Gideon was gold to his soul. He was one of those people that you come across occasionally that everyone is drawn to. And I loved seeing how Addison’s jaded world view was chipped away by the genuine innate goodness of him. I couldn’t get enough of him and I really liked watching him and Addison get to know each other and learn to get past their differences and see their similarities.

And there were a lot of really heavy issues addressed in this story and they were done so perfectly. I felt all of the feels and I even shed a tear or two. And I can honestly say that I was never entirely sure which way things were going to go. But when I got to the end I was so happy to have read it and gotten to meet these two awesome characters. And I really can’t wait to read the next in the series.

New York Times bestselling author Katy Regnery returns with the third book in her Odds-Are-Good series!

Three nights. Two of us. One bed. Zero chance at love.

Boston businesswoman, Faye Findley, has devoted the last decade of her life to work, leaving no time for romance. Tired of being a 30-year-old virgin, Faye answers an ad in The Odds Are Good magazine, hoping to turn over her v-card to a sexy Alaskan she’ll never see again.

Successful distillery owner, Trevor Starling, was left betrayed and broken-hearted when his brother and fiancée had sex the night before Trevor’s wedding. Anticipating a lonely New Year’s celebration, he places an ad in The Odds Are Good for a no-strings attached weekend of hot sex.

Though mistaken identity threatens to derail everything, the chemistry between Faye and Trevor turns out to be stronger than either could have imagined. And what started out as a one-and-done mission becomes much more complicated.

I am loving this series so much. Each book is so different from the last, yet they are all such great, sweet reads. I love the whole premise of each couple meeting through classified ads in a paper. But I really liked the idea of this one the most.

Faye had such an interesting, although slightly sad story and I enjoyed what a unique character she was. I could really relate to her as a person. She was struggling with the life she was dealt without being upset about it other than the distance it has caused between her and her sister.

Travis had every right to be bitter about life. And I completely understood why he placed the ad in the first place. And honestly I loved that despite everything he was still such a genuine, nice person. Watching him open up and fall for Faye was beautiful.

These two completely complimented each other and I loved their initial meeting and reactions to each other. The book was such a perfect read for a lazy Sunday and I can't wait for the next edition of the odds are good.

I really should have paid better attention to the GoodReads blurb for this. Because oh man I was so not ready for all the feels. And I do mean ALL the feels. Which is kind of stupid of me since I know how perfectly Katy always mixes the perfect blend of emotions, heat and storyline. But I really didn't expect to be ugly crying while reading it.

Now before I go any further, yes I cried like a teenage girl, however this book wasn't sad and depressing. There was a little angst and I was so immersed in the story I am pretty sure I was holding my breath for half of the story. It was bearable angst but I was dying to see how Cody and Juliet were going to get around it.

I adored Juliet so much. She was just perfect and so strong yet so caring and compassionate. And I loved Cody just as much. His story was heartbreaking and yeah he did hide away from the world but I really couldn't blame him. And although he wasn't confident he wasn't wallowing in self pity.

They were such a great couple and the relationship between them felt like it progressed really organically. The whole book was just real and beautiful and even though I know absolutely nothing about dog sled racing I feel like I lived it right along with them.

And having read the teaser for A Fairbanks Affair I can't wait to get my hands on it.

I adore Katy Regnery and her writing so I got cozy on the lounge with a cup of tea and dove into this story only to literally choke on my cup of tea when I burst into laughter 2 seconds later. At which point I tried to explain to hubby what garnered that reaction. (he still doesn't get it but oh well it made my day because that was hot and damn yes that escalated quickly)

So as you no doubt guessed this started with a bang and I felt a great connection to Amanda and the story. And the further in I got the more I was dying to see how Amanda and Luke were going to sort out their issues and start a life together.

Their problems were such normal, every day issues that are faced by mature people. And I liked that the story was so incredibly realistic and relatable even though it's nothing I have ever been through. All of the characters felt so genuine.

I just felt Amanda maybe planned things a little rashly without any input from Luke who really had a lot more to consider. And the ending felt a little rushed. But I guess we got our hea and everyone was happy, so I should probably get over it.

I loved the epilogue and I was happy with how it played out. I just would have preferred to take the more scenic route. Oh well the blurbs for the rest of the series sound great so I will be on GoodReads stalking them if you need me.
