The Brood by Devney Perry is now live!

A small town, forced proximity, age gap romance from Wall Street Journal and USA Today bestselling author, Devney Perry.

The last thing Wilder Abbott needs is a houseguest. Solitude has been his stoic companion for nearly a decade. He prefers to brood over his mistakes in seclusion. Besides, he gets enough social interaction as a high school science teacher in Calamity, Montana.

But when his oldest friend calls, begging for a favor, Wilder begrudgingly agrees. For the next two months, he'll give up his guest room to his friend's little sister.

Iris Monroe isn't the girl Wilder remembers. Gone is the shy, quiet mouse ten years his junior who always had her nose in a book. Grown-up Iris talks too much and asks too many questions, especially about his past. And her bright smile and clear blue eyes are hard to ignore.

Two months. He just has to survive two months. Except Iris is as nosy as she is beautiful. And his secrets prove hard to hide when she's living under his roof.

I was a little late getting to the Devney Perry party, but I've absolutely binged since I arrived. And I am so in love with this series. Because even though they are interconnected they are also complete stand alones. And when I picked up this one it picked up several years after the last one and I loved it.

When I saw one of the teasers for it, I assumed the single parent was Ronan since he was the character I hadn't already met. And Larke didn't have any kids so once I started it and realised that time had moved on in Calamity it made everything in my brain settle. Because I didn't have that tickle of "oh yeah I kinda remember reading that in the last one, but I can't fully remember and now I feel like I'm missing something obvious." I'll be honest, with my goldfish memory happens a lot more than I like.

Diving into this I was immediately in love with Ronan. And I already knew I loved Larke, but her fierce love and devotion to Wren made me love her more. Although Ronan was amazing with Wren and made me feel all warm and fuzzy with how he stepped up to the plate and put himself out there.

The book as always, had the perfect mix of intrigue, smoking hot chemistry, super sweet moments, and just wonderful writing. Sadly, now we have to wait for the next one, but luckily, I still have a heap of Devney's books on my TBR just waiting for me.

The Brawl by Willa Nash is now live!

On Ronan Thatcher's first week in Montana, he spots the most beautiful woman in the world. Love at first sight? Nah. He doesn't believe in love. But he wouldn't mind a date or two with the local beauty. Ronan is the type of man who gets what he wants, and he wants Larke Hale.

Except Calamity's sweetheart has sworn off men. The last time Ronan was rejected was, well . . . never. Yet Larke dismisses him without even batting those pretty brown eyes.

Bruised ego in check, he's about to walk away when a teenager marches into his office and asks to hire Ronan as her lawyer. Something about a bad grade and a ruined grade point average that will inevitably destroy her future. He's about to lecture the kid for being melodramatic until he learns that the teacher she wants to sue is Larke.

Suddenly this frivolous lawsuit seems like a bright idea. Ronan wants Larke's attention and this is guaranteed to snag it. So let the brawl begin.

I binge read the previous books in this series and then got to this one and didn't want to open it. Not that I didn't want to read the book, because Nellie has been awesome, and I was looking forward to her story. But because the next book in the series isn't available yet and I hate having to wait for the next one in a series I'm addicted to.

Cal and Nellie had been introduced to us in the previous book and I wasn't sure what to expect after seeing their bickering. I wanted to know what had happened between them for the animosity between them. But I had a feeling it was all Cal's fault.

Thankfully this was written in a dual point of view because I got to see the inner workings of Cal's mind. And seeing how he felt and how he reacted to their history through Nellie's eyes made him even more endearing. Seeing the history of their relationship made me understand the push and pull.

And now I have to wait for the next book in the series. God I hate having to wait. But how many amazing books are being released in October?

So, I'm loving the ability to just binge this series on KU. I am slightly upset that I didn't wait for this one to be finished and maybe read a different one because I know I've only got 1 left before I have to start waiting for the next one. And I seriously hate waiting for books, they just slide down my TBR until they are overlooked.

Anyway, I love Kerrigan. She is the ultimate boss babe. She knew what she wanted, and she worked her arse off to go after it. And then along came Pierce to put a blizzard on her parade. Luckily Nellie was awesome and didn't want anyone to to be misunderstood. And once everything came to light, I could understand where Pierce's storm clouds had come from.

The storyline was a little obvious, with a few twists to the things that I saw coming. And I wasn't upset about that because I was so invested in the characters and seeing what was happening next. I'm really looking forward to seeing the sparks fly between Nellie and Cal next.

I picked this up straight after finishing The Bribe and I have zero regrets. I went in knowing who the two main characters were and with so many ideas on the why’s and how’s and for the main part I was spot on. But the book was so well written that I didn’t really even think about it, I just needed to know what was going to happen next.

The whole story was pretty straight forward, and I’ll be honest I was expecting a little more drama at the end and maybe a little more closure (for lack of a better word) and I am a touch disappointed. The ending felt kind of rushed and I was expecting a few more of the earlier concepts to be fleshed out a little more.

Hux and Everly were both beautiful, slightly damaged characters who I thoroughly enjoyed watching fall for each other. And I really loved each of them and Savannah was very on point for a troubled, teenage girl. I am so happy these are on KU and I can binge my little heart out because now I’m off to grab the next book and see if we get more of these guys and our other beautiful Calamity residents.

So, I'm definitely a little late to the "how awesome is Devney Perry?" party but I am now a card-carrying member. And I really should have pulled my head out of my arse years ago (yeah freaking years) when she collaborated with Sarina Bowen and Rebecca Yarros. But nope I read their books and bought Devney's and then didn't read it.

Then by some random brain decision I picked up one of her books and now I'm obsessed. And slowly working my way through her booklist, when I discovered her KU alter ego and jumped over to that booklist. So, yay double the books.

Lucy was what a lot of little girls want to be when they grow up. She was struggling with the loss of her dream but also seeing that her dream had come off course and become a nightmare. And not once did she throw a pity party or cry about how unfair it all was. She just set a new plan and got on with things.

Watching her strength and growth and how well she dealt with everything made me love her. Then we have Duke. Sigh. Duke was the protective, possessive alpha in a kind and gentle way. I honestly loved him so much.

The book was so well written, the storyline had me completely engrossed. Sorry honey, I'll cook dinner tomorrow night (maybe). I literally couldn't put it down I just kept waiting for the next reveal or drama or anything. Now I already have The Bluff loaded on my kindle and I'll be honest I guessed that their book would be next but I'm still SO excited to read it.
