EXCERPT:
Completely out of my depth with this guy, I picked up one of the pillows from his bed and hugged it to my chest, trying to muffle the impact he was having on me. But his smell rippled up from the fabric, and my body went into a state of hypersensitivity.
“So…” I said, drawing in a deep breath and trying to sound casual, even though every part of me was trembling with arousal.
Damien left the doorway to take a single, cautious step in my direction. “Did I pass inspection?”
I shrugged, still trying to play it cool. “For the time being.” Then, I took a step forward as well, holding my breath the entire time in anticipation.
Shaking his head, he eased closer. “I still can’t believe you’re standing in my room right now.”
Taking my turn, I shifted an inch toward him. “Why not?”
“I don’t know.” His whiskey eyes searched mine as if reading all my secret desires. “I kind of thought I may never see you again.”
I paused and tipped my head curiously. “But you’re my landlord.”
Lifting one shoulder, he narrowed the gap until there was only about two feet separating us. “I’ve had lots of tenants that I only met once and never saw again. And I didn’t want you to be one of those. I picked up my phone half a dozen times to text, but I didn’t know if it was okay to do that after…”
When he lifted his eyebrows in question, silently asking if it would’ve been okay, I merely sent him a mysterious smile. “What would you have said if you’d texted?”
His lips twitched, finding amusement. “Probably only that I wanted to see you again.”
Catching my breath, I squeezed the pillow against me tighter. “Say it now,” I commanded.
Damien’s eyes turned predatory. Moving in until only the pillow separated us, he whispered, “I want to see you again.”
“Okay,” I whispered back.

“You know what I’ve been thinking about all day?”
I smirked. “Football?”
He tugged at my curls, and I inched closer. “No. I’ve been thinking about an even more fun game.”
Narrowing my eyes, I asked, “There’s a game you like playing better than football?”
“Mmm-hmm.”
“What game do you like better than football?” With his eyes zeroed in on my lips the way they were, my question came out on a whisper.
“Tongue tag.”
His warm lips covered mine, and I sighed into the soft pressure of his mouth.

Stefani Davis, Biscayne Bay, Florida
I leaned back, bracing my weight on stiff upper arms as the sailboat cut through the waves. At least once a month I made time, with my friends Carmen and Greg, to spend an afternoon on the water. Now that both my mom and my twin sister had mated Atlan Warlords and moved to another planet, I spent a lot of time alone. Too much time.
A twin without a twin was a sad, pathetic thing. Out on the water was the only time I felt alive anymore. And free.
Lifting my face to the sun, I let out a loud whoop. “I love sailing!”
Sitting right next to me on the bow of the forty-footer, Carmen laughed. “Me, too.”
Greg handed us both another margarita and settled on a folded towel next to Carmen as the sail snapped and waves crashed around us. “And this, lovely ladies, is why you will never convince me to leave Florida.”
I was about to agree when Carmen smacked my leg. Hard. “Effing-A Stef. Look at that guy on the beach. Total hunk.”
I turned my head to follow her gaze and almost dropped a frozen margarita in my lap.
Oh, god. Oh shit. That was an Atlan. Had to be. He was too big, too gorgeous with his shirt off. Jeez, he was showing too much…muscle. “He should put on a shirt.”
“Are you insane?” Carmen leaned forward and pulled a pair of small binoculars from where they rested around her neck. She lifted them so she could spy on the man. “He’s way too hot to cover up.”
With a knowing grin, I met Greg’s gaze. Carmen was a wild woman. We both knew that. Greg nudged her with his shoulder. “You going to try to find him when we get back to shore? We’re getting close.”
I checked my watch and sighed. He was right. About ten minutes and we’d be walking off the boat. Damn it.
“He’s running.” Carmen giggled. “Oh my god. Stef, I think that guy is chasing the boat.”
“What?”
Carmen handed me her binoculars and I looked for myself.
I shouldn’t have looked. Now my peaceful day on the water was instantly ruined by a throbbing, horny vajayjay and a bit too much tequila. Seriously? I licked my lips. Could this guy be any more perfect? He ran like he could run at top speed for hours. The sun made his skin look like he was glowing, from sweat or the water splashing beneath his feet, I wasn’t sure. Didn’t matter. All it did was define every muscle in his chest and across his back. His thighs and legs stretched and contracted as he ran, every muscle popping out to say hello. His dark hair was just long enough to flow back from a face that looked carved from granite. “What the hell is he doing all the way out here?”
Carmen grabbed the binoculars from my hands, held them up to her eyes. “I wouldn’t kick him out of bed. I can tell you that.” She practically purred. “You know him?”
I sighed. “No, but I’ve met enough Atlans to know one when I see one.”
“He’s one of those aliens? What do they call them?” Greg took the binoculars from Carmen.
“Warlords.”
“Fuck me, that guy is ripped.” Greg whistled and even from this distance I saw the Atlan turn his head in our direction. “And fast.”
“I told you, he’s following us.” Carmen sipped at her margarita and stared at the Atlan as he picked up speed. “Stef, I swear he is following us. Why is he following us?”
“I don’t know.” I didn’t. Not for sure. Carmen was right, it did look like he was pacing the boat, keeping us in sight. Which could only mean one thing—he thought his mate was on this sailboat. We were going to hit the docks and an eight foot tall alien was going to walk up to one of the handful of women on this boat—mostly tourists— and say the one word I dreaded hearing…mine.

Never Gonna Happen
Linda Kage
Publication date: November 8th 2022

Peyton’s mom and my mom were best friends.
You’d think that should cover the gist of it. But, no… Oh, no.
Not even close.
You see, Mom and Aunt Donna (as I’d always called Peyton’s mother) were not simply just best friends; I’m saying they were the-same-person-inhabiting-two-different-bodies kind of best friends.
And thus, Peyton Royce had been forced on me since the moment she was born.
We were treated like twins, yet always expected to fall in love one day and get married. The only problem with that was I didn’t love Peyton. And I’m fairly certain she didn’t even like me in return.
Don’t get me wrong. I adored our moms—swear to God—but they had to let this stupid notion go, because one thing had become abundantly clear to me over the years. I would never marry Peyton Royce. I think it was my one goal in life, actually.
So… Sorry, Mom and Aunt Donna, but you two just weren’t going to get your way on this.
Peyton and I? It was never gonna happen.

Aria took her turn next. When she immediately turned toward me and Peyton, my stomach dipped with dread.
“York,” she smirked snidely. “Truth or dare?”
“Uh…” Damn. I shrugged, not sure what would be worse from her. I ended up going with, “Truth,” only to hold my breath and hope she didn’t ask about why I’d really broken up with her. I didn’t want to hurt her feelings and admit that I just didn’t feel any sparks.
But she glanced calculatingly between me and Peyton instead, then asked, “You two have known each other your whole lives, right?”
I frowned in confusion. “Uh, yeah. That’s your question?”
“No. My question is if you two have ever kissed before.”
“What? No!” I frowned at her for wasting her truth question on that and then glanced toward Peyton, shaking my head to let her know my group of friends was clearly insane.
She merely blushed and shrugged back.
And Wes took his turn next in the game.
“York!” he cheered. “Truth or dare?”
“Seriously?” I threw up my hands. “Why is everyone picking on me all of the sudden?”
“Truth or dare?” Wes repeated, lifting a challenging eyebrow.
I didn’t like where Aria had been heading with her question about Peyton, so this time I said, “Dare.”
Wes looked at me with victory, letting me know I’d chosen wrong, right before he said, “I dare you to kiss Peyton.”

The Perfect Wrong
Nicole Snow
Publication date: October 5th 2022
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance
Wall Street Journal bestselling author Nicole Snow returns with a blazing forbidden romance where every wrong feels perfectly right for two star-crossed lovers…
Everything that could go wrong did.
The evil smile on my bestie’s face should’ve screamed bad idea. But I took her “easy” bet:
Find a man before summer ends. Renounce my V-card. Enjoy life.
I thought I was entitled to the same sweet ritual every girl deserves—until a force of nature blew in.
His name is Chris Triton.
Tattooed god. Moody ex SEAL. Zero filter. Born to drive me bonkers.
We barely spoke for ten minutes before he kissed my soul out.
Too fast. Too intense. Too flipping good.
Then I found out we’d be sharing the same roof the very next day.
Dad marrying his mom squashed our little chemistry experiment instantly.
You know, the normal reaction. But Chris doesn’t do normal.
Or predictable.
Or sane.
Still, I’m sure he’s playing some twisted game when he keeps teasing the unthinkable.
I think he won’t scorch my heart black until the Vegas trip—another hilariously bad idea.
It’s just us and a tension so thick you can chew it.
Just an unexpected hero charging to my rescue.
Just one freaking bed.
What the hell do you do when the perfect wrong feels undeniably right?
A full-length forbidden romance with sizzle, jaw-dropping sass, and all the heart-stompy butterflies impossible Happily Ever Afters are made of. Witness one growly protector battle the worst luck in the known universe to throw his princess over his shoulder and bring her home forever.

EXCERPT:
Delia, Chapter 1
I frown.
I’m not crazy overprotective of Dad’s property, but this guy shouldn’t be messing around out here, especially after sunset. He could easily get hurt.
Also, I’m guessing he missed the bright-red PRIVATE PROPERTY signs lining the cliffs every twenty or thirty feet at the edge of our property.
Finishing my drink with a huff, I set my glass down on a rock and start to approach him.
I still can’t make out much in the dull light. He’s too far from the party’s bright lights to be more than a massive shadow.
And his back is turned, his head bowed and focused on his diving gear like it’s the most important thing in the world. His mask and oxygen tank are off by the time I’m standing a few feet away, and he’s working on that wet suit.
He sheds it quickly like a second skin, revealing a statue cut from pure granite underneath.
Oh my hotness.
…is he completely naked under there?
I suck in a breath so sharply I’m surprised it doesn’t startle him.
I’m a little relieved when I see navy-blue trunks as he kicks off the rest of the suit—but only a little.
This man is a sea god heaved up by the deep.
His back alone looks powerful, refined, like a rock-hard swimmer who’s been mastering his craft for years.
Muscular creases collide with long, dark stripes inked on his flesh.
His tattoos are one with the night, a warning of sharp, vicious, dangerous things.
Oh, and he’s big—he must be pressing seven feet in all his giant glory—but he’s so smooth, so sculpted, so graceful.
His skin looks natural, healthy, and real in a way Marnie’s Tangerine Man never will be.
My breath catches.
I know, I know.
I’m living out every awkward smut heroine’s moment where she catches the hot guy half-naked and you can bet he’s about to spin around and chew her out in T-minus one second.
And I know it’s silly to prefer a body cased in ink rather than too much tanned leather, but I can’t help myself.
I cough, deciding we’d better speed this up.
When he starts turning, my eyes almost bug out.
His broad chest could slay a whole gaggle of underwear models—even if they laid their perfect bodies under the world’s best tattoo artists.
More dark stripes slither up his arms, pitch-black flames licking his biceps, and something dark and beastly and menacing covers his broad chest.
A dragon?
The monster sprawls across his skin, guarding what looks like a pitchfork. It kind of reminds me of my gramps’ old Navy patches that Dad keeps hanging in his office. He’s always been proud of them.
Oh, and he’s an older man, but not too old.
He’s mature.
Probably somewhere in his mid-twenties, fresh out of college with a dark glint in his eyes that only a heavy life can bring.
Our eyes lock.
His are bright green, set in his chiseled face like sinful emerald framed with just the right amount of cropped sandy dark hair and stubble that could scratch so sweetly on a woman’s skin.
His tight jaw holds the most capable mouth in the world, lips made for kissing and cursing and giving the whole world hell.
Maybe even one especially lucky lady.
“Didn’t know I had an audience. How long you been there gawking while I strip?” he growls, giving his rubber suit a swift kick behind him and marching toward me. “Where’d you come from, princess?”
Oh.
In my little stare down, I forgot I walked out here to remind him he’s trespassing.
