About HONOR

A high school reunion is about to get down and dirty and a whole lot more complicated in this new romantic suspense from USA Today Bestselling Author Kennedy Layne.

Derek Spencer hadn't even bothered to RSVP to his Catfish Creek's high school reunion. He'd been too busy fighting a war in Afghanistan in his capacity as a Marine and wouldn't even be in the States during the event. Unfortunately, one emergency phone call from his mother changed everything.
Tessa Daniels had been voted most likely to do everything back in high school. She somehow didn't think that included acquiring her very own stalker at the relatively young age of twenty-eight. It had stopped being simply annoying after someone broke into her house, invading her privacy. Now, she was actually in fear for her life.

Derek's mother feels terrible that her son has spent almost every waking hour at the hospital, watching over his recovering father. She sets out--and succeeds--in arranging for Derek and Tessa to attend their high school reunion together. Neither one of them expected sparks to fly or memories of long-lost crushes to emerge, but they are not only faced with their newfound passion...they must also confront the person trying to extinguish their chance to rekindle the flames of past desires.

EXCERPT

Derek stood in the doorway wearing only his formal black pants, holding a wooden tray that contained a plate with two pieces of French toast covered in syrup with powdered sugar sprinkled over them. Next to the white porcelain dish were two cups of coffee and a small bowl of fresh, homemade fruit salad he’d cut up from Tessa’s selection in the kitchen. He leaned against the doorframe as he took another moment to come to terms with what happened last night, willing the tension to leave his body.

He’d been honest with Tessa from the very start. She understood that he had to go back to his unit in Afghanistan, leaving him only one more week at home. He’d accepted the limits he could provide to any woman a long time ago. This time was no different… only harder.

Why, then, was he still here?

Tessa’s bedroom held the faintest scent of her perfume, but it was enough to beckon him to enter. Derek couldn’t resist the welcoming fragrance. He pushed off the doorframe with his shoulder and stepped over the threshold. He fought the impression that he’d actually crossed into something more than a mere room. It was her lair.

Tessa was still in the position he’d left her in— lying facedown in the middle of the bed covered in rumpled sheets while her long black halo fanned out over her pillow. Her hand was tucked underneath her cheek as the sunshine kissed her bare shoulder. She was sleeping peacefully, and he’d contemplated leaving her a note upon awakening, going so far as to thank her for last night and promising to keep in touch before walking out her front door. The thing of it was… he couldn’t bring himself to do that. He found that he could barely leave her bed to make them both some breakfast.

He’d gone and fucked himself and his heart over by allowing himself to be with his childhood’s unattainable beauty. She was his personal version of a unicorn.

Derek couldn’t prevent himself from reaching out, tenderly moving a flyaway strand so that it blended with the others. Maybe it was time to make some concessions, without altering too much of the original agreed upon provisions. He didn’t question why his chest tightened at the fluttering of her long lashes. Searching for an answer he didn’t want would get him nowhere.

  About DROPOUT

A high school reunion is about to get down and dirty and a whole lot more complicated in this new erotic romance from NYT Bestselling Author Carrie Ann Ryan.

Grayson Cleary left town before graduation day and never looked back. Most people back home pegged him as a dropout. Over time, he’s worked to make something of his life and leave his past behind, so when his ten-year reunion comes up, he has no intention of attending. When his best friend begs him to go, Grayson finds himself confronted with a past he’d rather forget and the one woman he’s always craved.

Kate St. Dalton had everything when she left her hometown. Not only was she Valedictorian with a full scholarship, but she was also engaged to the boy of her dreams. Then, life threw a wrench in her plans, and she had to find a way to live the new life fate handed her. The last thing she needs is the hot boy from high school returning to town as the sexy man of her dreams.

When the two take a chance and use the reunion week to burn up the sheets, they’ll have to remember that it’s only for a few nights—not for a lifetime. And decide if what they have is just a fling…or something far more than a mere reunion.

Kate didn’t know what to say, so she did the only thing she could— she wiggled out of his hold and straddled his lap, pressing a soft kiss to his lips.

Grayson’s eyes darkened, and he palmed her butt, his hands big enough to cover most of her. “You know, if I thought my sad story would have ended up with this reaction, I’d have told you earlier.”

Kate pushed at his shoulder. “Oh, stop. I’m honored you told me, Grayson. I’m so pissed off that you went through that and that I was so self-centered I didn’t know.”

He squeezed her butt. “We didn’t run in the same circles, and while others were shitty to me, you were always nice. You cared even when you had so much on your plate. I had such a damned crush on you, and you never made me feel beneath you.”

She lowered her head. “I wish I would have known about you. Or at least known more.”

He lifted her chin with his finger. “We found each other now, Kate. That’s good enough. No use looking into the past when we can’t change it.”

She blinked back tears for him, for her, for everything they would lose when the week was over. “It’s reunion weekend, Grayson, looking into the past is what we do.”

He shook his head. “Others might, but I’m looking at you right now, and that’s my present.” He kissed her softly. “Damn shame the future’s about to hit us square in the face, but I’m not letting myself worry about that when I have you in my arms. You’re my present, Kate, just like I’m yours.” He cupped her cheeks with his hands and kissed her a bit harder. “I don’t want to leave,” he whispered, his voice hoarse. “Not tonight, not on Sunday night.”

A tear slid down her cheek. “I can’t think about Sunday, but you don’t have to go tonight.” He kissed her again, and she fell against him, knowing if she thought too much about what was to come after he left, she’d break.

She’d done the worst thing she could have on reunion weekend.

She’d found the one thing she’d missed out on when it should have mattered, and now she knew if she didn’t find a way to stop time, she’d miss out on him all over again.

This whole series just excited the hell out of me. I mean not only do we get some great authors all sharing this theme we also get what sounds like some great characters and the potential for a whole heap of drama and excitement.

Naturally I had to jump at the chance to read Prom Queen by Katee Robert and I was far from disappointed. It obviously had all the smoking hot sex scenes and awesome character development that I have come to expect from the author. It also had a lot of emotion that to be honest I really wasn't expecting in a novel of this size.

Overall I really loved the characters, the theme worked to perfection for me and the whole thing has just made me even more excited for the other books in the series.

Loved it.
