Chance
The day I saw Gemma Steele’s delicious body wearing nothing but a few scraps of lace, I knew being traded was the least of my problems.
Her sexy text may not have been meant for me, but that image is not something a warm-blooded man could ever forget—no matter how badly he wants to. I’ve tried to resist her, but I can’t seem to escape Little Miss Suzy Sunshine. Every interaction is rife with tension and animosity, until it boils over, and we cross the point of no return.
That’s when I know I’m screwed, because now when I look at her, all I think is: Mine.
Who knew a simple selfie could be such a recipe for disaster?

The first time I met Chance Jenson, I was into the whole broody-bad-boy thing.
But then he opened his mouth and I quickly realized he’s not just a little moody—he’s the grumpiest jerk to ever lace up a pair of hockey skates. I wasn’t having any part of it. I agreed to cook for his dogs, but promised myself that the only thing he would ever eat are his words.
I spent more than a year doing my best to hate him, but when Chance’s lips land on mine, I feel…conflicted.
I don’t want to want the jackass.
I certainly don’t want to have feelings for him.
Unfortunately for me, my heart seems to have other plans.
What the hell am I going to do?
Alley Ciz is an internationally bestselling indie author of sassy heroines and the alpha men that fall on their knees for them. She is a romance junkie whose love for books turned into her telling the stories of the crazies who live in her head…even if they don’t know how to stay in their lane.
This Potterhead can typically be found in the wild wearing a funny T-shirt, connected to an IV drip of coffee, stuffing her face with pizza and tacos, chasing behind her 3 minis, all while her 95lb yellow lab—the best behaved child—watches on in amusement.
This
felt like the best kind of gift when it landed on my kindle. Hubby and I have
taken the weekend away from our crazy tribe of children and I was thoroughly
enjoying my time of lying down doing absolutely nothing when it popped up and
sent me into a squealing happy mess. After having almost a whole year of our
evil queen threatening to retire and leave us all without her words so it feels
like the longest scariest ride no one wanted to take. And none of us really
excel at the whole waiting patiently thing.
I
really wish I had done a series reread because there are so many characters in
this crazy found family and now they are all wifed up and having babies I felt
like I needed a cheat sheet trying to keep them all straight. I even had a Jase
/ Jake moment where I had to go check which one we were talking about because I
read it wrong.
And
to be honest I really don't remember Chase. I am a terrible Covenette but
honestly with my goldfish memory I was surprised how fast I fell back into the
fam and all the text handles and nicknames. And the cross over with Bette and
Ben was awesome. But I really loved getting to know more of Gemma.
But
before I gush over how much I love Gemma I want to ask why Vince couldn’t have
given Chase a few rounds in the octagon. It's funny but I have read two books
in a row that were vastly different with MMA fighters as secondary characters
and closed off acehole heroes. And I really would have killed to see one of
them get their arses kicked a little. I mean seriously why don’t these guys use
their damn big boy words and think before they have their temper tantrums and
say stupid shit? Luckily once Chase had a come to jesus moment with the guys
and realised what a dumbarse he had been he gave great grovel.
Gemma
was her beautiful inside and out self and I loved that she knew her worth and
didn’t settle for anything but Chases best. And the chemistry between the two
of them was uber hot. As always, I had literal laugh out loud moments, and I
couldn’t put it down from the first page. And I didn’t have to so it was even
better.
RYAN
I’m done with dating.
Happily-ever-after isn’t in the cards for me, so I’m officially taking myself off the market.
Hockey is my mecca.
The arena my temple.
The ice the altar I worship at.
Then…I met her.
Strip me naked and run me over with a Zamboni—she’s the textbook definition of a bad love match.
Amara Miller, beyond beautiful and effortlessly drawing me into her orbit and making it impossible to resist her.
AMARA
It should have been a simple cross-country move.
Instead, it sent me crashing—quite literally—into the captain of Coach’s new hockey team.
Did I mention he was half-naked when it happened?
It doesn’t matter that he’s sexy as sin and the swooniest motherpucker I’ve ever met.
I will not lust after hockey players.
Been there.
Done that.
Bought the maternity shirt.
And Ryan Donnelly? He’s pretty much Mr. Hockey.
The problem is, I’m not the only one enamored with him—my kid is too.
It’s turning into a problem, because this mama doesn’t have time to play games when it comes to our hearts.
Scoring Beauty is a sporty, sexy romcom featuring a hot-mess (at least in her eyes) single mom who’s about to knock this swoony motherpucking hockey player on his very fine behind. This interconnected stand-alone comes complete with your favorite can’t-mind-their-own-business Covenettes, a next generation trying their hands at the matchmaking shenanigans, and a guaranteed happily-ever-after.

Gah I can't believe we finally got Ryan's book. I want to go back and read it again for the first time. Firstly, because Cap is just so sweet and swoony and secondly because Amara was perfect for him. Seriously those two are not just couple goals but also mum goals and man goals and just all the things’ dreams are made of.
Since the first book of Alley's that I picked up I have been hooked and each book just builds my obsession. I think Alley needs to appreciate the fact I'm on the other side of the world and can't raid her trash cans for her thrown out notes. Everything about her words work for me. I always read this book and want to be a Covenette before remembering that my happy place is at home reading because of the lack of people.
But in regard to this particular book all I can say is ……. Sigh. It was just awesome. I loved that Amara was this kick arse single mum to one hell of a cool son. And obviously Ryan wasn't even slightly worried about Amara having said son. The fact that Mav fit in so well with Carlee and Sean just nailed it. Then you have Amara's besties basically being coven 2.0 the relationship was just destined.
However, the absolute best thing was the fact that Amara brought the Winter soldier into things. When Cap started getting all growly and bossy I was even more in lust. Because there is nothing hotter than a really good guy being all alpha and in charge. And now I'm off to jump my own. Kisses

Christmas Puck
Alley Ciz
It was so bittersweet reading this novella. For one it reminded me how much I love my BTU crew but it also reminded me how very far away the next book is. And it was so short. I mean really Alley you know how needy we all are.
Obviously it was great to catch up with Jordan and Jake but I wanted a super long extended visit. I miss the full coven and not even getting a tease of them in this novella was just mean.
I
feel like such a toddler having a tantrum because I only got 1 ice cream but
seriously WHERE'S MY OTHER ICECREAM?
Blue Christmas
Ginger Scott
It's been so long since I read the falling series and I can't even pretend that I remember them. But if Ginger Scott writes it, I'm going to read it so here we are. Add in the fact this anthology is supporting a cause I hugely support run by a woman I massively admire, it was an instant one click.
This
novella was super sweet and even though I have forgotten everything about it I
still got warm fuzzies reading it. Obviously it was pretty short and I read it
with a huge smile. Now I just wish I had time for a reread.

To say I have been anxiously awaiting this book would be a massive understatement. I am so addicted to the BTU Alumni and Maddey is one of my hands down favourites. It really feels like we have been waiting for the next book in this series for ever and then when it was Maddey’s that just ramped up the anticipation but then Alley had to taunt us with all those teasers about who our hero was going to be. I swear I had such massive butterflies just trying to figure out who it was. There was only one acceptable man in my mind but there were so many options.
Obviously Maddey is our Queen of Smut writing Disney Princess who’s a total badass and doesn’t need anyone to save her. But with all the stalker gifts and all the testosterone flying around her there were so many people just waiting in the wings to come slay her dragons. And Alley just kept taunting us about who it could be and making me obsess over it like a teenage girl.
That said I can forgive her for the torture since I got the hero I was hoping for. Along with a boatload of Disney references that made my day. Add in a heap of the coven and all the boys and various other friends and family members and I was in the happiest place on Earth reading this. It was awesome and I seriously couldn’t put it down. I am dying for everyone else to read it so we can squee over the possessive neck holding kisses and the growling mines and just all the perfection that was our hero.
But seriously Alley 2021 for the next one? That’s just mean. Luckily my
anticipation levels are high for the U of J novels coming soon but I am
feeling a series reread because this book was just everything.
