Every time a new Until book comes out, I can't wait to get my grabby hands on it. Since I first picked up Until November, I have been obsessed with the entire Mayson family, and I am absolutely dreading the end of this amazing family. Aurora Rose Reynolds has been an automatic one click author since that first book.

Bax was everything that we can expect from a Mayson man. His past is less than desirable, but from the second he lays eyes on Olivia the “boom” hits and he is the perfect over the top, possessive alpha. And of course, for Olivia that means nothing but trouble without her even realising.

Of course we got a beautiful, caring, sweet, strong woman who has absolutely no idea of all that is about to befall her. The good and the bad, but I was there for every word of it and I didn't want to leave for a second. And now I go back to impatiently waiting for the next one.

KING OF NOTHING

Aurora Rose Reynolds

Release Date: July 29

Blurb

I met him when my ship was sinking, and I clung to him through the storm. Little did I know he needed me as much as I needed him.

The first time I saw Roman Dante King, he stuck out like an odd puzzle piece that got mixed up in the wrong box. It wasn’t his blue eyes in the dim light of the bar, the tattoos that covered his arms and hands, or even his arrogant personality. It was something else—something I couldn’t see—that told me he didn’t belong in our small beach town on the Oregon coast.

Elora Mazie Barlow reminded me of a hummingbird zipping from one flower to another, never stopping, never allowing anyone more than a glimpse before she was gone. Never letting anyone in… until me. Then she gave me her smiles that were more valuable than anything I ever owned and wrapped me in her peace without asking for anything in return.

Her tragic story sounded achingly familiar to my own.

Our connection is knotted up in loss. The journey we’re on together will eventually come to an end. But will we be able to untangle the mess of strings that have tied us together?

Will we even want to?

Anyone who knows me, knows that Aurora Rose Reynolds could never write a bad book in my opinion. In fact, I'm pretty sure the lady just has golden words flowing from her finger tips. So, it feels incredibly disloyal to say that story wise, I think this is her best written book to date. It's hard to explain because Until November still has all the stars and will forever be a favourite read of mine but this book feels like it has more depth to the story.

The characters were beautiful, don't get me wrong. And I loved them and their journey, but the true beauty of this story was as much their journey as it was them. Whereas earlier books the characters have been the heart, and their journey has been second to them.

Elora and Roman met while each dealing with their own grief in different stages and in different ways. And watching each of them come to terms with that and not only work through it but also grow together at the same time was awesome. There was so much going on that could have worked out in a multitude of ways that I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next and how.

Everything worked out beautifully and I fell more in love with each character and I loved it. I laughed, I swooned, I cried, and I smiled through my tears. And although I think from a literary perspective this book shows the authors growth and development, I still think her debut book is my favourite. Sorry not sorry. #AsherForever

Aurora Rose Reynolds is one of my absolute instant one click authors. It doesn’t matter if she is writing a full novel or instructions on applying hemorrhoid cream, I’m buying it and reading it immediately. So as soon as Until Brodie dropped on my kindle completely out of the blue, I jumped straight in without checking the blurb or knowing a single thing about it. These 1001 nights novellas have introduced me to a lot of new authors and series that I might not have necessarily picked up otherwise. As well as giving me some bonus books in some favourite authors worlds.

I have zero regrets with my choice to pick this up, except it’s made me want more. Because as much as I loved these characters and found their story entertaining, I didn’t get enough. And I don’t really feel like it’s a true introduction to this authors work. Despite the fact it’s a four-star read and I inhaled it in a sitting, it feels like it’s missing all the things I love most about ARR.

The insta love was there between the characters and I loved them just as instantly. But we didn’t get the full growling, possessive, protective, over the top alpha in Brodie. I think if the book was longer, he definitely had the potential to be an amazing alpha hero, he just didn’t get to show it. Reese was a sweetheart and I loved that she had a backbone but that she didn’t let her hurt or her pride derail her plans for her future.

Luckily for me we have another ARR book releasing soon that’s longer than a novella because I need so many more words.

I have gone back and forth on whether I should review this book because I know I can’t do it justice. I am a massive Aurora Rose Reynolds fan. Like a crazy, stalker obsessed level fan. If she writes it I will buy it, love it and re-read it whenever I hit the “what to read next” wall. Her men are the perfect amount of growly possessive alpha and her women are strong and quirky. The only thing I could even say is a negative is that she doesn’t write fast enough. Then I’ve picked up this book and I couldn’t get lost in it or stay completely focused in it. It took me 3 days to read it when normally I would have devoured it in 1 sitting. But this week has been a dumpster fire on steroids and I don’t even know which way is up.

But I did love it. And I can never get enough of Miles and Winter and their family. And Em was just the perfect addition to them. The three of them together were just the sweetest and I felt like I could stay with them forever. I think that the way they negotiated their relationship and the seamless way they all fell into a beautiful life together.

As with most of these books there was a bit going on, and I was kept guessing as to how it was going to play out. Ordinarily I would be consumed with this while having to put the book down for a minute to adult, but sadly I didn’t get to enjoy that mental escape. So I don’t know if it was me or the book that made parts of it feel rushed and unfinished or if it’s just the fact that some of the less important things were just not given much attention.

Luckily for me there’s still a brother to go so we will get more of these guys and their relationships future growth. But I’m thinking I will absolutely have to do a series re-read as soon as I can relax and get a few days to get lost in this amazing authors words.

I wish I could explain how Aurora writes a book that not just keeps me captivated so much I can't put it down, but also gives me characters I love. Honestly from the first page of every book I want to be best friends with the heroine and I'm madly in love with the hero. Even if I read it thinking damn that was some serious over the top semi stalker kind of action for some reason, I am also questioning why the hell I find it so hot.

Walker dialled the over-the-top alphaness up to an eleventy seven and I couldn't get enough. And each time he did something a little, shall we say, questionable? Hanna called him out on it, and he hit her with the sweetest, most genuinely caring reason that I completely understand her just melting into a pile of goo.

I actually expected more drama from a Mayson lady. Normally there's all kinds of kidnapping and explosions. So, I was actually relieved when I was waiting for the plot twist towards the end there. I thought for sure it was going to be something to make me cry. I would have loved to have had more but since I complain about that at the end of every Aurora Rose Reynolds book, I know it's my own greediness. The epilogue was cute. And I loved seeing Tucker. And if course Trevor and Liz.

I can't wait to see who's up next.

 Release Date: July 7

Tucker Beckett and I likely never would have met if our spouses weren’t having an affair.

Newly divorced with a young son to raise Tucker Beckett is the last man Miranda Owens should be itching to figure out, to make smile, and hear laugh. Still there is something about the detective with haunted blue eyes and a dirty mouth that draws her in from the moment they meet.

If only life were so simple.

As Tucker and Miranda begin to navigate their new relationship, Tucker is tasked with solving the murder of a young woman, while their ex’s begin to play games in an attempt to split the two of them up.

Before they fall, these two will need to figure out if the only thing tying them together is the circumstances that brought them together in the first place or if it’s something more.

Love isn’t complicated but sometimes life is.

Ahhhh it's freaking Tucker's book. Ok ok I know I probably should have realised that a long time ago, but I had no clue. I actively avoid teasers because then my little brain fixates on that story, and I am unable to read anything else and I drive myself and my family a little nuts waiting for the book to be released. So, when it's one of my auto buy authors like the amazing ARR I don't read the blurb. I just check if it's part of a series I've already started.

So, I was all excited to start a brand new series and meet some new characters when BAM I realised I knew half of these guys. And I've already sulked over how much I need a massive industrial building with a floor for each of my family and a huge indoor playground. On top of that we got the start of Until Willow at the end and I completely melted remembering all the awesomeness of their book.

Oh well, as I said it's freaking Tucker's book and his lovely lady, Miranda. Honestly couldn't find a single thing in the book that wasn't just gah. The sweet, strong, self-confident single mum and the growling, sweet, caring, possessive alpha law enforcement bad arse. What can I say? It's like reading crack. I'm completely addicted, and I never want to be cured of it.

The only issue I had was having to put it down to parent. And the fact that since I finished it in a day, I now have to wait for Aurora to weave her magic and write the next one. Because since the minute I read Until November it's been a pattern of inhale the book as quickly as possible, then wait for the next one, rinse and repeat. With a few random re-reads thrown in for good measure.

So now we wait. Which is kind of ok since there's now a few extra secondary characters to obsess over getting their own stories. Can't wait to see what's next.
