From New York Times bestseller Katy Regnery comes a new twist on the beloved American legend, "Rip Van Winkle."

Sometimes, the journey is the love story.

On the night of his high school graduation, Ripley Van Winkle—local quarterback, prom king and all-around big man on campus—swan dives off the top of the Sleepy Hollow Lighthouse. . . and lands on jagged pile of rocks. Suffering massive brain trauma, Rip isn’t expected to live, but he somehow manages to beat the odds: most of his physical injuries heal, though he remains in a deep coma for the next twenty years.

When Rip awakens two decades later, he will need to relearn his body’s most basic functions, in addition to catching up on twenty years’ worth of history, progress and change.

Something called the “internet” has the answer to every question you could ever dream of asking, and people are reliant on mobile telephones smaller than a Walkman. His high school girlfriend is married with children, and he has an eighteen-year-old sister who was born while he was “sleeping.”

As Rip struggles to find his place in this strange, new world, one presence in his life will become both a beacon and guide: his childhood friend, Katrina Van Tassel. But Trina has a challenging adult life of her own, and there’s no guarantee she has space in her life (or her heart) for her one-time high school crush . . . Rip Van Winkle.

I have loved Katy Regnery's writing since the first time I picked up one of her books. But her Modern Fairytale series is a thing of such beauty, it's hard to put it into words. They are filled with so much emotion and the depth of the story takes my breath away.

So, I knew going into this that I was going to experience all the feels. I was apprehensive about the whole coma angle of things. I really couldn't understand how Katy could make that romantic, but she nailed it. The initial part of the story was a little hard to read. Trina was having such a terrible time of her high school experience and I felt for her.

Rip was a typical teenage boy, caught between being the king of the popular people and being who he was inside. And there were moments that I hated him and other moments where I loved him. But when he came out of his coma he was amazing.

The whole after part of the story was beautiful. I couldn't put it down. And the "update" at the end was the perfect cherry on the cake.

From New York Times bestselling author Katy Regnery comes a new twist on a beloved fairytale.

In this modern retelling of The Little Mermaid, a fisherman’s daughter from an Outer Banks island untouched by time, meets the son of North Carolina’s governor at a fancy party where she’s working.

Laire, who wants so much more from life than her little island can offer, is swept away by wealthy, sophisticated Erik, who is, in turn, entranced by her naiveté and charm. The two spend a whirlwind summer together that ends on the knife-point of heartbreak and forces them to go their separate ways.

Years later, when fate leads them back to one another, they will discover the terrifying depth of the secrets they kept from each other, and learn that shattered hearts can only be healed by a love that willfully refuses to die.

All novels Katy Regnery’s ~a modern fairytale~ collection are written as fundraisers. 10% of the e-book sales for in March and April 2017 will be donated to P.E.O. International, a non-profit organization that celebrates the advancement of women, awards scholarships and grants, and provides motivation for women to make their dreams come true.

About the Author

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Katy Regnery started her writing career by enrolling in a short story class in January 2012. One year later, she signed her first contract and Katy’s first novel was published in September 2013.

Twenty-five books later, Katy claims authorship of the multi-titled, New York Times and USA Today Blueberry Lane Series, which follows the English, Winslow, Rousseau, Story, and Ambler families of Philadelphia; the six-book, bestselling ~a modern fairytale~ series; and several other standalone novels and novellas.

Katy’s first modern fairytale romance, The Vixen and the Vet, was nominated for a RITA® in 2015 and won the 2015 Kindle Book Award for romance. Katy’s boxed set, The English Brothers Boxed Set, Books #1–4, hit the USA Today bestseller list in 2015, and her Christmas story, Marrying Mr. English, appeared on the list a week later. In May 2016, Katy’s Blueberry Lane collection, The Winslow Brothers Boxed Set, Books #1-4, became a New York Times E-book bestseller.

In 2016, Katy signed a print-only agreement with Spencerhill Press. As a result, her Blueberry Lane paperback books will now be distributed to brick and mortar bookstores all over the United States.
Katy lives in the relative wilds of northern Fairfield County, Connecticut, where her writing room looks out at the woods, and her husband, two young children, two dogs, and one Blue Tonkinese kitten create just enough cheerful chaos to remind her that the very best love stories begin at home.

I don’t know how I forgot the power of Katy Regnery’s words. Every single book of hers has been amazing and of course this one was no different. From their first meeting the connection between Laire and Erik was palpable and I could feel the chemistry leaping off the pages.

Firstly I have to say that if you aren’t a fan of insta love this isn’t the book for you so save yourself the money (unless you’re buying it for the charity then buy two and give one to a friend). Now of course I am a huge fan of insta love so this whole book was absolute perfection for me. And the insta love was told so beautifully and with so much depth of emotion I couldn’t stop turning the pages.

Laire and Erik weren’t just from different worlds it was almost like they were from a different time. And Katy told the book with so much detail and sensitivity it felt like I was visiting these places right along with the characters.

He’d never known anyone remotely like her, like this fisherman’s daughter from a world that was somehow frozen in time.

I fell in love with Erik from the first meeting. He wasn’t anything at all like I expected him to be, he was so much better than I could possibly dream and I loved that he fell in love so hard and was everything that Laire could need. He is absolutely on my book boyfriend list.

Laire was such a beautiful soul, I understood why Erik fell so hard for her and watching her fall right along with him was awesome. She was so sweet yet so kickass and strong. She went through so much and had to grow up so fast yet she still kept her sweetness and everything that was good about her.

This book was seriously amazing and you should absolutely one click it right now but be warned that you will need a box of tissues and once you pick it up you won’t physically be able to put it down so make sure you have the time to enjoy it.

I don’t know where to start to explain to you how amazing this book, this series and this author are. I feel like anything I say at this point is redundant. Everything Katy Regnery writes has this ability to crush me then make me feel like all is right in the world. And from the very first book her Modern Fairytale series has been pure gold.

Dark Sexy Knight is no different. I knew I had to have it from the second I saw the blurb and as soon as it landed on my kindle I just had to pick it up and read it. I normally feel a little guilt when I one click a new book knowing I already have  heaps of books on my kindle just waiting for me to read them but knowing that a percentage of the sales from these books go to amazing causes I actually feel like I have to buy them as quickly as possible.

Verity is sinking, drowning under the weight of a life without luck and a special needs brother who is her whole world since the death of her parents, until she meets Colt. Colt swoops in to play knight in shining armour despite his feelings of self-loathing and his own battles with his inner demons.

This book truly is a love story. And from their very first meeting I could feel the chemistry between them like a string pulling them together.  I felt so personally invested in their relationship that when everything seemed to be perfect and I realised I was only at 50% my stomach was in knots trying to guess what was going to go wrong or how these two were going to be tested. And when it happened I was right even as I was entirely wrong and I loved it.

I spent half of this book with a huge smile on my face and the other half with tears in my eyes or streaming down my face. The only negative for me personally is I would have liked to see a little more recompense for everything they went through. But then that epilogue was so beautiful I guess I can live without it and just sit back and think about the great things to come in their future.

Wow this book was absolutely amazing.

Katy’s writing is flawless and I love the way she crafts her stories so perfectly. But I went into this one a little apprehensive. I saw a review from a GR friend that stated there was a plot twist at 75% and themes she couldn’t handle and by 25% I was already so invested in Holden and Griselda and all they had gone through I was scared it would destroy me.

Holden and Griselda had been through so much they did a few things that would normally piss me off a little and maybe my reaction to them doing it is a little wrong but I found it very easy to forgive their mistakes. From the first I felt their connection. They were bonded not just by their shared experiences but also to the depth of their souls.

The book is told in the present day with flashes back to their lives when they first met, through their time in captivity to their separation. However even once they find each other and are reunited they still have to fight to earn their HEA and watching all that happened to get there broke my heart while making me believe in that soul deep love that is the reason I read these books in the first place.

These books are legitimate stand-alones and you don’t need to read them in any given order. For my review on The Vixen and the Vet please click the link below.

A percentage of sales made in June and July in 2015 goes to an amazing charity so if you are in the mood for an amazing angsty story about love, trust, hope and survival grab this book now and know you’re not only getting a great read but also helping an amazing cause.
The Elizabeth Smart Foundation, which aims, among other things, to support the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and to educate children about violent and sexual crime. For more information, go here: elizabethsmartfoundation.org

This book has been on my TBR pile since it was released, a huge amount of my GR friends had raved about it and I knew I would love it so I knew I had to read it but I just kept putting it off for one reason and another until I realised that the second book in this series was about to be released so I knew I just had to read it right now and as per usual I am kicking myself for not having read it sooner.

The writing was flawless and I felt every emotion and I just couldn’t wait to see how it would all play out in the end. From their first meeting you can feel their connection and even though there were twists and turns I never doubted they were meant to be together.

Savannah and Asher were both damaged and had both come home to lick their wounds and hide from their past. But then their paths collide and they realise they are two parts of an amazing whole. Asher’s transformation and drive to be all that he could be to be worthy of Savannah was truly awe inspiring and I fell for him so hard I wanted to wrap him up in a bow.

Savannah came across as a little on the selfish side and I really wasn’t a fan of her sister for a lot of this book but they both redeemed themselves in the end and I finished this book with a massive smile on my face and a driving desire to jump right into Never Let You Go.

So if you’re looking for an uplifting second chance story this is the one.
