Emma James writes books where love will always rise from the ashes.
Her style is writing unpredictable stories whether contemporary laugh-out-loud romance or dark and twisted romance with steam.
Even in her dark storytelling, there is room for a spark of humor.
She lives with her husband and family, including a grumpy pet rescue cat, Morrison, in a seaside community. Reading, writing are her passions.
Here's
the thing, I have a serious love hate relationship with second chance romance.
If it's not done to perfection I hate it, I need a VERY legitimate reason for
the break up; I need BOTH or neither character to have been celibate depending
on the break up; and then I need grovelling, like major, world class
grovelling. So when I read the blurb for this book I was thinking hard pass.
But
it kept popping up so I pre-ordered thinking I would eventually get there, like
when the next one starts popping up but as soon as it landed on my Kindle I had
to read more of this series because I am absolutely loving it.
From
the first page I was engrossed. Having it told in dual point of view meant that
I knew there was more to the story than Talia thought. And I had to know what
that was, because Foster was so openly in love with Talia and so desperate to
have her hear him out. But damn, did I feel Talia's heartbreak. As much as I
felt the chemistry and I went on that whole rollercoaster of emotions. I
couldn't put the book down.
This
book was so perfectly written and the story was beautiful and I'm so glad that
I jumped right in. And I'm already dying for the next book, in fact I'm off to
see if the preorder is up because I need that story.
All I need is a place to hide for a few weeks.
The paparazzi were on my ass 24/7 and I needed a bit of breathing room—an escape from the madness—before the media frenzy begins.
Sure, I could have gone to a secluded cabin in the woods—but I didn’t want to be bored out of my mind. I’d seen enough wide open spaces as a kid from Texas to last me a lifetime.
So instead, I let my agent hook me up with a modest house in the burbs where we didn’t think anyone would find me hiding in plain sight.
I’d have a roommate; but supposedly, she was going to give me space. Stay out of my way and respect my boundaries. According to my agent, I wouldn’t hear a peep from her.
Wrong. He was wrong about everything and now my life was never going to be the same.
Among her favorite vices, she includes: iced lattes, historical architecture and well-placed sarcasm. She lives colorfully, collects vintage books, art, loves flea markets, and fancies herself British.
I
can't believe that's the end of the series, I want more. I don't know who or
how but I am so not ready to leave these guys yet. Each and every book has been
great and I have loved all of these characters.
And
despite the fact that I felt like I knew who Asher was I really wasn't
expecting to see so much depth and growth from him. He was so shallow and such
a man whore I wasn't really sure what to expect from him.
Lola
was beautiful. I loved her from the start and seeing how hard she worked I just
wanted someone to swoop in and help her. And when Asher was the one swooping in
I wasn't sure if he was going to be all that I wanted for her. But then he
walked the walk and I couldn't have been happier with his efforts.
The
book gave me all the feels for Lola and I loved her and Asher together. The
epilogue was so cute and I loved the way it wrapped up.
#1 Amazon Bestselling author Ilsa Madden-Mills delivers an all-new, enemies-to-lovers sports romance, a breathtaking tale of passion, heartbreak, and love…
Skyscraper cheekbones, lush lips, and magnetic topaz eyes.
I’m talking about Eric Hansen.
Rich prick.
Glorified hockey star.
Thinks he’s amazing.
The Golden Boy and I are well acquainted. In prep school he trampled on my heart then kept right on going.
Now, he’s living the high life with frat parties and puck bunnies at Hawthorne University. On the other hand, people barely notice me—unless I’m on stage taking my clothes off. I’m the nobody, surviving in the seedy part of town as I fight to keep my head above treacherous waters.
I’ve snubbed him for three years.
The avoidance game we’ve been playing was working—until he rescues me from a bad guy and claims he wants to help me more.
Hello. I don’t need a knight in shining armor. This girl saves herself.
Yet, I’m not sure how long I can ignore the undeniable spark between us. (It’s not even a spark; it’s a full-fledged, blazing fire.)
Can this hockey player prove he’s boyfriend material, or will our past get in the way?
This steamy romance is perfect for fans of enemies-to-lovers or second-chances. Boyfriend Material is a new adult college romance.
Keep reading for a look inside Boyfriend Material!
No. I do not have a favorite look for him, but it does show off his ridiculous cheekbones and aristocratic, slightly bent nose.
He’s wearing jeans, gold Converse, and a HU shirt. The lion on the front seems to glare at me—much like he is now.
I lean against the doorjamb. Be cool, be cool. “Howdy, partner.”
He doesn’t smile. “That guy at the laundromat is scary. Stay away from him. I mean it.”
I huff. The nerve of him to tell me what to do.
“That’s what I told you. I repeat, you could have been hurt. Let me handle Connor.”
His arms cross. “How did you get involved with him? Are you on drugs?”
I tuck my hands in my pockets and dip my head so he can’t see how much his words hurt. I know I strip, no one has to remind me, but in prep school, I was the goody-two shoes who never wavered. I had to keep my grades up to keep my scholarship—not that I was ever invited to parties. I wrote poetry. I drew. I daydreamed about him. “Do I look like an addict?”
His golden eyes roam over me. Assessing. “Maybe.”
My throat tingles with words I want to say but know I shouldn’t.
The less he knows, the better.
His nose flares. “I’m trying to help you and you’re giving me the cold shoulder. What’s wrong with you?”
I swallow thickly as I gaze at him. “Eric. Please. Being around me will only smear your good name—”
“Stop,” he calls out, then rubs his face, his anger seeming to deflate like a popped tire. “Don’t put yourself down like that. You’re a person, Julia. One that people care about.”
And I want to protect those people.
I chew on my bottom lip. “You shouldn’t have interfered.”
He lets out a long sigh, gives me a searching look, goes to leave, then stops. He reaches into his pocket and holds something up. “This is yours, I assume.”
I stare at the ring, my lips parting. “How did you . . .?”
But he’s already out the door.

I’m a type-A planner, but arriving at my best friend’s wedding newly single was not part of the plan.
Jilted by my cheating ex-fiancé and left homeless in the process, it’s a no-brainer to take my best friend Jackson up on her offer to stay in her condo in Park City. The only catch? Jackson’s already agreed to let her younger brother Beau stay there for a few weeks.
Living with Beau short-term shouldn’t be an issue, except when we meet again for the first time in a decade, our chemistry is off the charts. But Beau is everything I’m not looking for in a guy: he’s unpredictable and self-centered, a known womanizer, and incapable of committing to anything besides traveling the globe snowboarding. Plus, no guy is worth losing my best friend over.
As barely tolerating each other turns to barely restrained attraction, our relationship is pushed far past the boundaries we’ve both erected. Can we keep it casual as our relationship heats up, or are we risking every plan we’ve ever made?
Author’s Note: If you don’t like adorably possessed shelter puppies, sexy roommates in gray sweatpants, family curses, unexpected trips to Las Vegas, hotel rooms with one bed, and steamy off-limits secret flings, this book isn’t for you. But if you like all that and a happy ending, pre-order this book now!

I
don't even know where to start with writing this review, I just want to hand
everyone the book and say thank me later. But even that feels kind of redundant
because obviously you already have it pre-ordered since it's an Ilsa
Madden-Mills new release. And to top that it's a Hawthorne hockey book and we
get Z and Sugar sprinkled in like confetti.
But
really the book was awesome. Eric and Julia were both heartbreaking in their
brokenness. And yet they were both so together and strong in fighting for what
they wanted. And every time I celebrated them going through another trial there
was something else they had to deal with. I honestly went through all the
feels.
Then
we get the surprise epilogue and I couldn't have loved it more. Like seriously
sweet cherry on the cake. It completely tied all the bows on top of the present
that it was. It even gave my vengeful side a little happy dance and then threw
in a heap more sweet. Perfect.
Oh damn was this book heartbreaking in all the very best of ways. And yes I know that sounds weird but every time I cried I had a smile on my face. Because even though these characters went through the very worst time of their lives they came out stronger and far from broken. Even if it took them some time to realise it.
Lily
and Theo started off kind of at odds. Each of them, stuck in their own grief
and guilt and not sure how they should feel or act. And I seriously loved
watching them work it out and begin to heal. Even if they still have a lot of
things outside of their control they are on the track of a beautiful future.
The
secondary characters were just as awesome and I'm hoping that we will get their
stories and maybe catch up with lily and Theo in the near future. Because every
single one of these characters is someone I need to see get their very own
happily ever after.

About the Book
Blood,
sex and alcohol.
That
was what Club Worth was all about.
Ever
since vampires had come out to the world, people had been obsessed. Take a walk
on the wild side and see what the nightclub was all about.
Acadia
Powell, on the other hand, didn’t do vampires. Nor did she do messy.
What
she did do was stay away from people like Constantine Worth, Master of the
City, and the most gorgeous man in the history of men. It didn’t matter that he
had hypnotizing eyes, beautiful lips, and the sexiest body she’d ever had the
privilege of laying eyes on.
It
should be easy for her to stay away, but with each subsequent encounter, it’s
becoming harder and harder to fight the growing need inside of her.
***
Constantine
Worth knew that Acadia was off limits. Not only was she human and not willing
to slum it with the undead, but she was also the baby sister of the city’s
chief of police. The man that liked to arrest him every other day and twice on
Sunday.
He
should hate her based solely on the last name she shared with her brother. Yet
each time he sees her, he forgets that he’s supposed to be playing nice. She
sets his blood to boil, and each time she lets the verbal slurs flow, he finds
it harder and harder to maintain his distance.
Soon,
he will have to make a choice. Maintain his upstanding relationship with human
law enforcement, or take what he wants, and damn the consequences.
