I always find it so hard to review certain books and / or authors. I find that I pick up the book and get so lost in the story that I don’t bother to take notes or think about the story until I put it down, normally in the same sitting I picked it up in. And the Black Dagger Brotherhood are almost at the top of the list of books that I struggle with.

The thing is they aren’t just one book to review. Every book in this series is a continuation from the initial book, every character just gets added to, to the point where I can’t know where each book begins and starts. So how do I review that?

So instead of trying to review this book I am going to tell you that for me this was classic BDB with some new characters I haven’t gotten to know previously. And I enjoyed everything about them. Axe and Peyton were interesting and I really enjoy going back to the start with this whole new generation of recruits.

We got a lot of Mary, Rhage and Bitty and their adoption and with that a whole heap of the original brothers along with a lot of Lassiter who I loved so much in this book he almost stole the show. He made me laugh and he made me cry.

There was all the normal action and romance and a whole heap of emotion and I can’t wait for the next instalment in the original series in April.
